Making a Boot Skin

I have made the images and the configuration file, but now what do i do. When i download boot skins, it somes in a ".bootskin" file and sort of "installs" itself to the bootskin program. How do i turn my boot skin into a ."bootskin" file, or better yet, is there an easier way to do this??
