Screen Savers

Hello,

As an old man who is new to "skinning" how do I obtain screensavers to compliment my new suites, etc.?

Thank you in advance,

Robert

Try Google! Entering "Free Screensavers" should bring up a zillion websites

Be careful downloading free screen savers though. You are bound to get a lot of spyware.

If the author of the skin offers a way to contact them you may want to ask them what they use for a screensaver. Searching Google is a good way to find lots of screensavers, but also a good way to find lots of spyware, adware, and (the worst of all) viruses. I would recommend going to places like download.com. Look on other websites like this to see if they have screensavers with full descriptions of the screensaver and what all you are getting into by useing their screensaver (nagware, adware, etc...) My rule of thumb... if the author has no homepage, the homepage is severly out of date, or the homepage is no longer theirs... I simlpy do not install it.

Thank you all very much. After searching through all of the google responses I agree that there is too much danger of malicious code being introduced into my machine. I'll check the author's web site and keep my machine clean. Thanks again. Robert

As a rule of thumb..each screensaver that requires any *installer* includes spyware and trojan horses...found this out the hardway

you could also save some of the cool wallpapers that you find on this site and save them in "My Pictures", then run a "my pictures slideshow" as a screensaver. For personal use there is no copyright problems to do this.

Also, (although this is a little off topic) you should email T-man through the About link on the left to get the double posting bug repaired.
