OBJECT BAR 0.61 AND OFFICE 2000

I'm having trouble with Object Bar 0.60. Whenever I run Powerpoint 2000 to show my slides (for my lectures), Object Bar crashes ! What's going on? Is there a bug that I'm not aware of? Please help. Thanks.

Bear in mind that Objectbar is still in early beta.
Nevertheless I'm sure the Objectbar team will appreciate your feedback. You post it at the Objectbar newsgroup: news://news.stardock.com/stardock.od.windows.objectbar

I really love the objectbar idea, and will definately go back to it when it gets a little older, but for right now, it's so buggy on my computer (win2k), that I can't even tell what is conflicting with what. Many times I was going to give some feedback, but only ended up totally stumped.

Also, come on people! Make some skins for it (other than xp)!

Hehheh, fine one I am to talk there.

the only problem i have with OB under win2k is that it always crashes as soon as i open a second windows media player window.

if you are opening a lot of windows, this could be an effect, since it has also been reported with colorpad.

beyond that i am finding the latest builds quite stable. i am even learning to edure the XP skins, so long as i try and avoid opening the mega death start menu *shudder*

I'm using Win 98SE. Most of the other programs I run (in the Microsoft Office 2000 suite) are running fine, with the exception of Powerpoint 2000 (which, when I view my presentation in full screen, the next thing i will see is my Crashguard saying that the WinXP bar has just crashed). Though there is one bar, the No No Object bar 0.60 which works fine. I wonder why...(all the rest just crash !!!!). So I end up using the not so good looking theme No No...

as i recall that bar is set to autohide by default. have you tried turning on autohide on some of the other bars? it almost sounds like it could be a conflict over who gets the bottom of the screen (or where ever you have docked object bar).

I've tried autohide, and it didn't work either. I guess you're right (feline), it must be a conflict as to where the bar is docked and the use of full screen (though it doesn't happen when I use other graphics / video programs in full screen). Most of the bars are docked either to the bottom or top of the screen (these are the ones with the trouble). The only theme with a bar on the vertical plane is the No NO theme, and that's the only one without this problem. So I guess, either someone has to check on this "bug" in the program or someone has to start making a living making themes with the bars on either the left or right of the screen. Thanks for all your suggestions guys & gals.

i am aware of some "issues" with full screen programs, but i have never seen them crash anything on my machine.

if i used an upto date version of irfranview in slideshow mode, then OB shows though, but using an old version of irfranview it does achieve full screen properly.

best to report this one on the OB newsgroup if you havent already me thinks.
