WindowBlinds, XP, nVidia, Display Properties crashing...

OK.. this sucks... I'm having a couple of problems with Windowblinds and my nVidia drivers on my Dell laptop. So, I figure I'll just uninstall Windowblinds, right? WRONG.

When I remove Windowblinds and then try to use display properties, if I go to the "Appearance" or "Settings" tabs and try to apply changes I'm getting the message: "Run a DLL as an App has encountered a problem and needs to close."

Now, I don't want to deal with Windowblinds and this point. What I want is to be able to [a] remove WB and [b] have all of the WB-specific artifacts left in the Display Properties dialog removed and [c] get rid of that message when WB is uninstalled.

Help please???

I reposted to WC-Help.... If a Mod could delete this one from WC-General I'd appreciate it... TIA.

Nope that didn't help. The display properties dialog still crashes. Am I supposed to reboot or something after using the tool??

Actually I found the answer on the stardock newsgroups...

Uninstalling WB should be enough. However, if wbui.dll didn't uninstall
correctly, the problem you describe may occur. To fix it, run this
command from Start/Run:

regsvr32 "C:\path\to\windowblinds\wbui.dll" /u

Usually the path will be C:\Program Files\Stardock\Object
Desktop\WindowBlinds

After doing that, the integration with Display Properties should be
removed.

Yrag, that was way to close. You should probably put a little explanation in the posts that you put that link in.

Justin - that is a download file, not a direct executable link....what was close?

Well people might not know what it does...I meant its an acronym with Zapper on the end of it. Its a link to something that will remove every trace of Object Desktop from your computer. I think that deserves a little explanation.
