Living Bridges.... Another way of doing something....

Thanks, tbc!

Barb (teddybearcholla) sent me an email with this vid.... Thank you, Barb. Beautiful place... and fascinating.

Problems and challenges can have many solutions.

In this vid, no 'technology' was used. No scarce resources... just patience. For some reason ir made me think of "Avatar".

Not saying this is suitable for all situations, but it's fascinating to see another approach to a problem... It's certainly "greener".  ;)

Possibly one of the most awesome things I've ever seen. Thanks for that, Barb.

A low tech solution to a problem.  It would seem that the statement, 'The answers are out there.' is very valid and the solutions do not need to be high tech.

It also sheds light on a question that folks have been asking for a long while, 'How did we get to where we are now?'  It would seem problem solving has been going on for sometime.

Makes you wonder if looking back just might help solve some of todays problems. :S

Back before there was any high tech there were natural solutions and man was a problem solver. Had to be in order to survive. Too bad we can't say the same for man today. How sad is that?

I'd just say that tech is a solution to problems as well... just not the only solution.

Open minds are more receptive to "inspiration" and novel solutions...  :)

Many of our National and State Parks have trails, campgrounds, roads and bridges built entirely by hand and in some of the most beautiful and rugged terrain in the US. Traveling throughout the west, I've enjoyed many CCC-built trails and campgrounds. No heavy equipment, just shovels, pickaxes and mules, using as much native material as possible.

It was part of the New Deal called the CCC and WPA. They also built schools, bridges, ports and a lot of other infrastructure. We could use the CCC now, many parks are in sad shape today, not to mention the jobs it would create.

I agree but do you think the "Give Me Generation" would work those jobs? I doubt it, too menial for them.

I hate to say it but more than likely the only ones that would take those jobs would be illegals.

Occupational Health and Safety would have a fit....;p

You'd never get it past Engineering, Building or Planning....

Child labour is a political nightmare....

And there's always the touchy-feely tree-hugging hippie crap that will claim it's abuse of the natural resources and an insult to the trees' civil rights....;p

Funny, but all too true. Ah...modern times. ;)

Modern or is it one step forward and two steps backwards. I vote we all go agrarian.
