Recent support ticket about missing file

Hi,

I just opened a ticket about a problem I found concerning a missing file in WindowBlinds. Here is the text of the ticket if anyone here knows about this or can help:

"Hi,

I frequently run a Microsoft system tool called "autoruns" It lists all of the programs, files and services that run at startup.

Under the "Winlogon" header it shows this error:

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon\Notify

WB File not found: C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock\Object Desktop \WindowBlinds\fast64.dll

I looked in the WindowBlinds folder and the file is not there. This is an entry the WindowBlinds installer adds to the registry so where is that file?

I tried installing the production version and the newest beta version but they both have the same problem.

Please help!

Thank You,

Joe Lore

Can anyone please check their WindowBlinds folder and see if you have this file there? Also if so inclined can you aos run autoruns: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963902 and see if you have the error under the "Winlogon" tab untill I hear from tech support?

Thanks!

Joe

You do not need that file.  It is a leftover from Windows XP 64 bit support and the installer is incorrectly setting the registry entry.

It is worth noting that that particular key does nothing on Windows Vista or Windows 7 even if the file did exist.

So it is safe to remove that reg entry?

Yes... it's an empty key. If you're worried, make a backup or a setpoint before deleting the key.

You can but it being there or not is making no difference to your system.
