Good art. Me likes as well. One thing I noticed was fingers 3-5 on the right hand. I think the foreshortening or perspective (whichever) is slightly off...should be longer.. not trying to be critical...just want you to get max bucks or Kroners or whatever...

@Doc: 1. it´s not finished as Vamps said. 2. It´s the photo..... 3. -They Will pay :ninja:   ^_^

Just mentioning what I saw. Take it for what it's worth, or not.

I´ll make sure they´re the right length when finished. Thanx Doc :sun:

I hope the person in the picture didn't have that thin of a left right..ankle, Break dancing might not be a good decision for him o_O

I am trying to be critical, it's just my nature.. metaphorically speaking :sun:

rest looks good, cept the fingers thingy.

Criticism´s no problem... Since I know WHO´s actually Painting them ;)

I think it captures the essence of what a dance studio IS, perfectly!  I took tap lessons as a kid -- I know how it feels to walk out when your done with the lesson -- yeah, that ankle is PERFECT and so are the fingers.

If you can't say something nice, don't say nothin' at all?

lol.. cmon, it's not kindergarten, or a liberal college campus.. its an art site, and in such, critique is implied.

Good and bad.

The rest looks great.. I said.

Lets not make more of it than it is. :sun:

The left hand is 'ambiguous' ...it reads as a right hand.

The right hand looks like a misplaced shadow is the cause of the index finger looking short.

Nothing wrong with the ankles...;)

Hand on the ground looks a little off proportionally... hand in the air needs to show more of the thumb joint.  Other than that... terrific.

Same here, and I loved tap dancing, but the oldies stopped paying for lessons when they learned I kept falling in the sink.

I think its because the right ankle is looked at from the front while the left is looked at from the side. The other issues I think have to do with shadow. But like Vamps said it isn't finished yet and knowing our Kitty it'll be a bang up image...no doubt. Hang tough guys...you got this one.

Hello i think you captured all nicely the base shadows of cloth do look good and i think when it´s done it will all look fantastic the floor reflection does also look pretty nice, besides what has been already mentioned i would like topoint out the left side of the pants near the foot- shouldnt it point downwards ?
Im just saying since the hair inlucing the hoody is also pointing at that direction even if in motion the angle needs to be a bit lower
   But good job so far would love to see the end result

Since the original image is a photograph and I can´t imagine there was anything going on with the Gravity at the point of taking the picture, the part you´re referring to should then by rights be pointing UP ^_^

THIS is actually RIGHT, and will be taken care of as we first posted ;)

Frankly, I don't see a problem with the ankles, either.

I do however very much agree with vStyler about a point he made. This is an art site. Everyone has his/her feelings and impressions about an image you chose freely to exhibit and by doing so seek input. All too often people lack the courage to say what they truly feel out of not wanting to cause a row.... WebGizmos and I talk about this frequently and are in absolute agreement, as I am with respect to this point, with vStyler.

It's only natural to feel defensive when the criticism you sought (I hope) by posting the image is received. If you don't want critique, it's up to you to say so. Usually, something like "Constructive criticism is sought" will encourage the timid to say something.

None of the criticism was nasty nor was it demeaning in any way. It was informative, and honestly? It didn't require a response beyond "Thanks for your input, we'll take a look at that." Doesn't mean "You're right" nor "My art isn't any good."

Not all input will be professional nor necessarily valuable in your sight, but it was freely sought (implicitly, by posting) and freely given. You might not like it, but that's usually the stuff you should be paying attention to if it's constructive... not the "super" nor the "great" if those are the only reactions without any further explanation.

Too often friends won't be helpful if they only praise. Real friends will tell you where they see a problem. That doesn't mean they're not friends. It means they're good friends.

Again, overall I think this is very good art. I hope you understood what I took the time to say. None of it is ill spirited nor meant in a bad way.

Now get busy! Kick some butt!

:)

I should clarify by saying I meant, lower leg\shin not ankle, even viewed from a 'top' angle, looks far to thin to be a realistic leg.. to me.

Take it or leave it, but to me, it's glaring.

and  k1 regarding Doc's comment ^

neither me nor neone6 took offence to any critique given...i guess thats the problem with typing, you read it the wrong way sometimes.

We do appreciate the input.

I think I see what's wrong....the left thumb is folded over the palm....hidden from view...however the shading on the index finger actually looks like the thumb is aligned forward...in which case that is a right hand, not a left.

palm facing up is NOT the first way to read it...which would be a left hand....

palm down means it's a right...and this person needs to have a chat with a surgeon....;p
