Why is this slow? Oh yea, no WindowBlinds yet

Was trying to figure out why my windows are resizing so slow and then I realized that my new PC, with a state of the art video card, is not running WindowBlinds yet. 

Most people think of WindowBlinds as eye candy and that’s really a shame. For me, these days, the fact it turns things over to DirectX and double buffers so everything is crazy smooth is key.

I was hoping that Windows Vista, then Windows 7 would catch up in this area. The fact Microsoft hasn’t fixed this year makes Windows look bad. You shouldn’t need WindowBlinds to make Windows function as it should.

It would be like having to download an Android app to get the display smoothness as good as an iPad/iPhone (of course, there isn’t such an app, Google just needs to fix it).  Microsoft needs to fix this.

If I wasn’t afraid of Android users (and I am), I’d say that WindowBlinds is akin to making an Android display as smooth as an iOS display.

In the meantime, get WindowBlinds.

I love WindowBlinds and it is eyecandy, to a degree, but as you said, it makes Windows look so much better as do all of StarDock's programs; I went without them for years until the husband introduced me to them and now I can't see not having Object Desktop and all the rest. You have two very satisfied customers here.

Having had WB so long, I really don't know how Windows functions without WB.... I really don't care, either (takes away a great selling point), and yes, 7 or Vista don't look as good as WB makes it look. If I had to look at vanilla 7 all the time, I'd spend far less time on a computer.

Windows 98 "Personality"  September 2, 1999  that's what a UIS called itself back then....ah...lists itself as Windowblinds 0.92.8..."introduces mouse-over effects....".

Long term user of WB here too, since early 2003.
Windows, no matter which version, is too boring, imo.

Among the 9300+ WindowBlinds skins I have in my collection, the oldest (so far) dates back to March 3, 1999.

I look at windows as what it is "An Operating System" Windowblinds is merely an application to plug in to the OS to enhance the User Experience.

Everyone has different tastes and Microsoft simply creates/provides a platform that enables literally thousands of plug in applications to enhance different parts of the OS.

With Windows 8 on the way it will bring a few new challenges for the skinning community to dive into, Perhaps  animated user tiles will be the next big thing who knows?

Customization is the name of the game round here and I for one cannot wait to see what new and exciting blinds are produced to enhance the windows experience which when all said and done it is after all a personal preference as to how it looks and preforms.
