IconX problem?

I've got a strange problem with IconX that I have not been able to figure out, so thought I'd ask the good folks here at WC. I use DX (latest beta available on OD) and with IconX running I can't apply any of the 3 GUIO icon packages by Rokey. If I do, I get the following:

I've tried numerous settings trying to correct the problem, but nothing has solved the problem yet. Anyone have any thoughts on what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks

Try to apply them without it running and then run it after they are applied, I'm not sure, but this should fix your problem.

Thanks for the reply, but unfortunately I've tried that with no luck. I've messed with about every setting on IconX, but nothing seems to want to work for me. Tis a strange one.

If all else fails uninstall desktopx and then reinstall it

If you right click on the icon and go to IconX Properties, you can change the icon. If you're getting it on all of your Desktop Icons, then doing that would be a real pain. If it is all of them I can't think of anything that would cause that, although I do know if it's just an .EXE file without the /switch then it will show the default .exe icon (which is what your showing in your 1st post)

Here's another thought....look in Task Manager and see how many instances of DX are running......

Okay, just finished the following:

1. Uninstalled DesktopX (deleted DesktopX directory - after backing up my theme of course)
2. Rebooted
3. Reinstall DesktopX
4. Execute DesktopX with Smooth_Metal icons (by Rokey) applied
5. Same problem is occurring

When I right-click on my 'Machine' icon and choose IconX properties, it is set to display the Default icon. So I exported out the My Computer icon, as defined in the IconPackager theme, to a .png file and set my 'Machine' icons to use this image and it works fine. I could change all of my icons as what you see in the screenshot is all I have on my desktop, but I really don't want to have to worry about doing that everytime I may change themes if you know what I mean.

So, next I removed that setting on the 'Machine' icon (set it back to using the Default icon) and apply a different IP theme (iCandy Junior) with DesktopX still running and the icons are displayed properly by IconX.

Also, I verified that there is only one instance of DesktopX running at all times during all these changes. I'm stumped .

Thanks again for the help ...

I am using one of the Rokey icon packages, and desktopX, and I have the same issue. Generally I have the desktop icons hidden so it is not an issue (This is happening in DesktopX 2.1 not beta). Other Icon Packages seem to work fine.

*bump* - any other thoughts? Or, should I post this to the DX newgroups?
