Stopping The Wallpaper

hey

i recently got the shareware version of windows blinds, i was wondering if there is a way i can stop it from overiding my current wallpeper, i can set it back to what it was, but each time i restart it gives me the one that came with the skin. I have unchecked "apply any wallpaper supplied" but it still seems to apply it when i restart

thanks

Brodel311 - I, too, have the same problem you do. Unchecking the 'apply any wallpaper' button doesn't work for me either. I use Webshots for a lot of my desktop wallpapers and once one of its pix is checked, it stays that way until I change it - even when changing Window Blinds themes that come with a wallpaper. If your wallpaper is listed in control panel/display/desktop, make sure it's highlighted, then click on apply, then ok.

What should happen, on reboot, is the wallpaper you chose should now be default wallpaper, and not the one supplied with the WB theme. You may need to keep going back in ctrl panel/display/desktop a few times, & rebooting before it "sticks".

I've also found this method works with non-Webshots wallpapers, too.

You can also go to the skins theme folder and erase the wallpaper file and replace it with your own with the exact same name.

Maybe there is a bug in the shareware version. I don't have any problems with the full version.

It's important to remember to not just delete the wallpaper from the skins theme folder, but to replace it as ChasUGC mentioned. If you just delete it without modifying the .uis file, you'll more than likely get an error from WB, and if I recall correctly, it will then be considered a broken skin by WB afterward.
