Keeping Resources to a minimum

What Windows theme to use

Hi,

It seems when I run Windows Blinds it adds the WB theme OVER the curret windows theme. To keep resources to a minimum should I just set Windows to the Classic Windows theme or can I turn themes off altogether?

Thanks,

Joe

Hi,

As posted in another thread....

Doesn't seem to matter. As WindowsBlinds seems to apply the Windows basic (or lack of any theme) before applying it's own theme. If you unload WindowBlinds from the icon you're left with no theme at all, just the plain Windows Basic, so I just turned off Windows themes and let WB 7 do all the skinning.

Also I asked somewhere here if I would get a discount on Object Desktop since I already bought WindowBlinds. I saw on the StarDock site that I can get Object Desktop for $34.95 if I've bought any one part of it.

If you turn off windows themes, you probably won't have aero running, which will mean the windowblinds skins won't look quite right. Also, your taskbar previews won't work.

Very good point and from experience I agree. I tried turning off Windows Themes and not only did I not see any resources, per say, decrease much but many of the unskinnable areas looked like the old Windows theme. With Themes enabled they had the Aero, or whatever Windows theme you have enabled, properties.

Just an FYI.
