Reinstalled SoaSE, trying to update

I decided to reinstall SoaSE and went to update the game. Turns out Impulse is needed to update it. So, I download Impulse and proceed to update the game. The problem is that the download speed says ~400kb/s, but it stops downloading frequently. It has been running for the past hour is has only gotten 9.18MB of 231.33MB downloaded. I tried disabling my antivirus and my firewall, but that didn't seem to help either. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Try a full download of the game. Uninstall then use Impulse to reinstall the full game.

Well, it looks like it finally downloaded completely and updated completely. Thanks for the reply though, but for now I will just be content with it eventually finishing.

Out of curiosity, what version of the game were you playing before?  v1.05?  v1.05 has been out-of-date since late 2008.  Are you aware that there are also two expansions (Entrenchment and Diplomacy) and that a 3rd (stand-alone) expansion is in the works called Rebellion?
