Are Theme Manager and WinStyles the same thing?

I thought Theme Manager was the replacement for WinStyles but I wanted to use a suite (Unlighted) and Theme Manager did not reconize it.

Did I do something wrong?

...Probably

Open SDC...what versions does it show installed for Theme Manager and WinStyles and what does it show in either under the 'Available' Tab?

...Try reading this and it may answer your question..

~ Yes, they are basically the same thing. Winstyles will be fazing out and Theme Mangager will be taking over.

I just noticed that WinStyles and Theme Manager have the same version number.

Yet strangly a theme did not open under the installed program... I did it from the Theme manager window. I guess that theme needs to be downloaded from IE instead of TM

Your proxy and/or firewall settings may be limiting your ability to download the parts of a theme that are not already installed on your computer through Theme Manager

i had theme manager installed, as well as winstyles. went to SDCentral the other day, and it showed as if i never installed it. i re-installed, but it didn't recognize my old suites, and winstyles would no longer work. i went to my object dock folder, went to winsyles folder, then to themes. i copied all the suitws to the themes folder in theme manager. voila, i have them all back.
