Problem with Windowblinds

This is a first.

Okay, This is what's happening. Before you ask I can't access about Windowblinds and you'll see why in the screenshot. I put up a wallpaper from DesktopNexus, one of the wallpaper sites I got from the forums. After that I applies CyberShot WB as it matches the wall pretty good. Then this .....

Okay, forget that, no screenshot, The top of my browser is buried so far up I can't access any of the controls. The upload button to image shack is not working. But I just found out the screenshot button 'is' working. Have a look at my browser.

When I tried to change the skin the top of the UI is missing. No buttons no nothing so I can't change anything. The Task bar looks like its halfway between Windows classic and Cybershot. Some  windows open correctly and some don't. I can't even open any folders. I'm going to try and uninstall Windowblinds through Impulse and re-install. See if that helps. Wish me luck.

Best of luck. Most issues I ever run into like this are usually resolved by re-installing.

*This guy has posted quite a few 'problem with this...' threads in the past few weeks. I honestly think it's time someone had him pee in cup, you know what I mean? Aren't there rules about Skinning and Drinking or Photoshopping on Drugs?

Not referring to me I hope. Here's the screenshot after the uninstall.

I have never had a problem with Windowblinds before so this came as somewhat of a shock. My browser is working fine now. So ... on to the re-install.

Maybe try to uninstall through a utility such as Revo Uninstaller (it has a portable version) and run a cleaning utility such as CCleaner, then restart and re-imstall.

But before that, I would try a system restore if that's available, preferably through a backup utility if you have one installed and backed-up.

Win7 has one built in and I think it should be the best way to clean-ip a mess.

With all of the weird problems you are having, are you sure YOU aren't infected with something on your machine?8(|

Poor Uvah. Nothing's going right. Uninstall/reinstall sounds good. Judging from where the top of the browser is, either he's installing too much stuff on his computer, or Firefox has moved to Sitka.

@ Po':  *as long as he's peeing in the cup at his [or your] place, not mine: If the top of his browser is in Sitka.... we're talking 'major overshoot'.

@ Uvah: How can you have a WB Config window after uninstalling WB? Do you mean after uninstall and reinstall?

Everybody keeps insisting my lappy's got a bug. No way Jose. My lappy is clean as a whistle. I keep up with those things you know. anyway. I did the re-install and everything is back to normal. Of all the skins I've tried that was the first time I applied Cybershot. All the others and I have a lot of them applied with no problems at all. As for the other 'problem' I reported. Its still happening, not as much, but still. I got rid of Bonjour, set FF so that the cookies, history and cache is cleaned out every time I close it. So when I come back I have to log in whereas before I was automatically logged in. So no cookies, no cache, no history. All gone when I close FF. Pages still load slow and I use the back button thrn forward again and my comments are submitted. So sometimes there's a double post. BTW .... I ran CCleaner and a few others this morning and CCleaner again after the uninstall. Zero infections!

Uvah... I'd advise stopping putting all sorts of software on your computer. The more there is, the more problems there are.

I haven't installed anything in the last ....... uh ...... let me see. Nothing since 86ing Bonjour. Except maybe another FF update to 3.6.15 but that's about it. Besides I'm getting ready to clean house again. lol

Sorry Sweetie, wasn't insisting, just suggesting! Do you use Malware bytes? Just curious. I got a Trojan a while back and it was the only one of my security apps to catch and remove it. I am probably one of the most cautious browsers:meow:  <3  :omg:   you will find but I picked it up in a download from DA of all places.

Without knowing anything about your laptop....when is the last time you checked for an upgrade on your graphics card?

I made that screenshot 'before' the uninstall. I wanted to upload it but I was not able to open my folder. I wanted you guys to see what it did so I uploaded it after re-installing.

if you wanted to, you can probably make exceptions for those sites you trust and visit regulary to allow their cookies and block all other first and third party ones.

I think I'll leave it as is for now. If I keep playing around with this stuff sooner or later it'll come back and bite me in the butt. Good suggestion though. Appreciate that. Anyway ... everything is working as it should and I think the reason for the delay is due to site traffic. I noticed that when a page fails to load quickly there is almost always someone posting at the same time, here anyway. As for other sites ... that I don't know. I do know, now, that I can rule out site issues. Another thought just ocurred to me. When FF updated to 3.6.15 the website said it was due to the previous version's inability to load Java correctly and speaking of which ... a question. Some sites are saying that my Javascript isn't activated yet it shows that it is in the browser. Any ideas?

Do you have the noscript addon

Yes. I have it. When I do encounter it I tell NoScript to temporarily allow the page then it works fine.

@Po Smedley. My laptop is only eight months old. I checked for updates and the return was all drivers etc etc are up to date. I do keep up on these things.

@Frankief. I run MalwareByte, Microsoft Security Essentials and recently added ThreatFire. All definitions are up to date too. Updated MalwareBytes to the latest version yesterday so I'm pretty well covered. Thing I like about ThreatFire is that it checks your anrtispyware, antimalware and firewall to make sure they are active and up to date. Did a full system scan this morning with all my utilities and the only thing that was found was 'one' cookie which was promptly eaten. Not too shabby.

Now all you need is something to check ThreatFire to make sure it's checking to see if MS is checking.......

........how many showers do you take a day?

Its what ThreatFire does yrag. Think of it as an Overseer with a really big stick.
