Cant get E-mail checkers to work

Hi!
Everytime I download a DX theme I cant get the e-mail checkers to work.Ive entered the info correctly.
Its a pop3 server.Do I have to have Outlook express active or something, or dont it work with express?

you shouldn't need any other program to make it work. double check that you entered in everything corrrectly, including the pop name. If you don't know the pop name (its often pop.whatever.net) check at your email's website for it. If it still doesn't work fiddle around with things like your firewall. of course it may be that your email site doesn't work with it, but I find that highly improbable.

My e-mail server (site) doesn't work with it either, because it's a secure site.
