Boot Skin Quality

Tips on booting...

1. Make the whole page up layer by layer in something like Adobe Photoshop or better still Dreamwaever Fireworks.

2.Take that PNG file to Microsoft Paint and change to 16 Bitmap. (remember each time you change from software to software the image gets worse.

3. Finally, render the image pixel by pixel so that the whole page is correct for colour loading to boot. Remember to clean up any words (even the MS logo part)

If all the pixels are colour correct in a 16 bitmap then the whole image is now true for color.. The JPG is only for the wincustomise files so make sure that is equally good. You may have to work on that seperatly too.

Confucous says "there are no short cuts to quality"

Good luck...See me for any additional comments...NJOY BOOTING...

I assume you mean 16 color 4bit. If you're going to give instructions, try to be clear in what you say.
But why would you need to take the image to MS Paint? Are you saying Photoshop, and Fireworks can't reduce the color depth? Seems a shame that such high dollar image editors can't handle a little thing like that. (btw Dreamweaver is a completely different program than Fireworks... both made by Macromedia)

remember each time you change from software to software the image gets worse.

ehhhh.... not true. At least not if you're doing it right. The image may suffer when the color count is decreased, but not because you "changed software".

Not trying to rag on you............. but mis-information is worse than no information.

best rogramm to reduce colours is paint shop pro 7. sound strange but really works great (and much better than the tool included in skinstudio)
