My system slows down :(

I started using a boot screen and my pc started acting freaky. Everything loaded to the boot screen just fine, however, when I moved my mouse to my icon, is dragged real real slowly. It took quite awhile to get to the icon and click on it.

Now, I don't know if it's my ram or my video. I have onboard video w/256mb SDRAM on a WinXP Pro system. Is it because my specs suck? Do I need to upgrade system for it to run properly? Please help.

Note: I tried this on two different boot screen and when I went back to default, it ran as normal.

This bit makes me wonder if you're really talking about LogonStudio. Are you using BootSkin, LogonStudio, or something else?

Some Logons do seem to make the mouse a little draggy. Some don't seem to have much of an effect on performance. Just try a few until you get one that does well.

You might try to take it out of your msconfig. You will lose the ability to have random logons but, it might solve your problem. There seems to be some conflicts with it. It crashed my system and others that I have heard, but this solved my problem. Now, it works seemlessly for me.

I read this solution somewhere a while ago and it seems to work.
