Question about....

Im not sure at what you mean. By button style do you mean it looks like the buttons in the theme? If so then you would have to edit the skin manually through skinstudio. Most likely that would require the use of a photo editor. I wouldn't suggest that path unless you know what you are doing.

The other option is to choose a start bar that has the "button style" and use it instead of the startbar with the theme loaded. You can do that in the windowblinds configuration. click user overides and in the right there should be an option to do this.

Skinstudio will let you use the regular taskbar buttons for the quicklaunch,just make sure you set the sizing margins or they may not look right.

yes, but that would require effort and knowledge of skinstudio. aarielle if you want to do this just ask I am sure we can guide you through it.

another option would be for aarielle to import a button widget into skin studio. This might require a little bit of margin/sizing adjusting, but won'trequire any actual making of graphics for the buttons. Aariele, as ¼Crazy Travis says, there are enough people around to help you thru the skin studio thing if you decide to go that route.

You guys sure are brave around here....cause I REALLY don't know the first thing about all this. The task seems daunting and you may live to regret the words "we can talk you through it", but if you guys are willing I'd love to try. I know what import means and I know what the "skin studio" is but I have no clue what a "button widget" is. So you guys let me know and I'll give it my best.

I'll do it. I have a theme I want to do the same to.

here it goes. hope you can follow

Step 1. It looks like this before


Step 2. Open SkinStudio and click open visual style


Step 5. Click the Windowblinds expansion box


Step 4. Find the skin to edit. I am editting a skin that I imported from a msstyle by chaninja


Step 5. If this shows up click ok


Step 6. Here is what skinstudio should look like. Click XP Taskbar


Step 7. Click on the Quick Launch Icon


Step 8. Over to the right, right click on the top image in the box. If you don't understand look at the highlighted item in th pic. In the right click menu click cut. If it asks if you want to do this click yes.


Step 9. Your almost done. Up in the toolbar click the preview icon. If it asks if you want to save click yes.


Step 10. Your through. You can close Skinstudio and marvel at what you have accomplished. here is what mine looks like now

I accedently discovered that by cutting the quicklaunch image it would automatically use the taskbar buttons in its place. Just luck that it was small enough to use pictures.
