Wincustomize and Firewall Software

This is weird... Lately, everytime I visit Wincustomize.com and look at skins posted in any of the library sections, my cable Internet connection locks up (for lack of a better phrase). Sometimes it's after a few viewings of screenshots (of a WindowBlinds skin, for example), sometimes it's after only one viewing. I can do account maintenence stuff without trouble, but as soon as I enter a library and try to view or download something, it freaks on me. I have to unplug my cable modem to recycle it.

I have a D-Link wireless router, but the PC I browse from is connected to one of the wired LAN ports, so it's not a wireless security issue. The router is using simple IP address filtering, so it shouldn't be that. I also use ZoneAlarm Pro on the PC. I know it's overkill, but I bought it before I got the router and I do like its pop-up killing features. Could there be something about ZoneAlarm's pop-up killing aspect that's incompatible with Wincustomize? I used to restrict cookies, but turned that down to nearly nothing, so I don't know what could be causing this.

I love when someone asks a question, then falls off the planet....I'll guess you have ZA Pro 4.5.530.0. If you do go to http://download.zonelabs.com/bin/free/information/zap/releaseHistory.html and download version 4.0.146.029. Re-boot into safe mode and uninstall ZAP. Re-start and install the downloaded version. If you have a lot of permissions and whatnot, you can use the Back-up and Restore option in ZA before and after you do this. Everything should now work fine.

You guys should trust yrag. He (she?) knows the scoop. I know. I followed his/her advice, and it worked like a charm. Amazingly enough, though I sure never would have figured it out in a million years. So, dump v.4.5 and revert back to v.4.0, as yrag suggests. Your problems WILL be solved.

Sorry, I didn't quite fall off the planet, but I have been busy with other things of more importance. Thanks for the tip. I am running ZA version 4.0.123.012 actually, but I will give the upgrade to 4.0.146 a try and see what happens. That might go towards solving the cookie-blocking issue I still have on occasion (it isn't supposed to block them, but some sites insist that something is and I have to shut down ZA).
