Some people may give me a beat down for what I am about to say, but hey, what the heck - why not. In truth there is no right answer. Both have very good points for or against them. Many graphic artists and the like, usually prefer Macs while cgi animators for film usually use PCs. I myself have owned both plus a couple of others of old times. Often, those who get started on one will never accept the other and vice versa. If you believe that you will like a Mac then by all means get one, but understand all that software you have will not do you any good on a Mac. You need the Mac version to make them run! That's kind of a lot of cash to fork over at once, especially when you already did it once before.

thanks for the help.yea i do understand that ill have to buy most of my stuff again for mac,but it seems like a good investment.ive heard both good and bad things about mac and im kinda scepticle about buying one.a co-worker of mine praised the mac and called it "the best computer ever made" and many of my friends run mac down like garbage.so i guess ill give it a try and see how it works for me.i do have to say though, that the macs are quite expensive lol.i bought this emachine for 800$..all seperate though.the one ive seen i think its called the g4 or something like that i saw for 1300.ouch.

Actually you don't have to get all the software again, theres a PC emulator for Mac called Virtual PC, which Microsoft actually bought recently, that you can run un top of OSX, install XP on it and rund PC apps on it. However the newest release does not support the G5.
