Mysterious moving DesktopX objects

I'm using the DX 1.99g beta and finding that all of my desktop objects will suddenly move, many of them move offscreen. There doesn't seem to be a pattern to when they move. But there is some odd sort of consistency to how they move. If the X-coordinate changes, it is always by 600, either positive or negative. If the Y-coordinate changes, it is always by 450 in the positive. That is, an object may move left or right (but mostly right) and/or an object may move down (but not up it seems). Strange.

After the first time it happened, I locked all objects after putting them back in place but they all moved again. There was a post about a week ago about this or a similar problem but nothing came of it.

I'd really appreciate some info on this problem. It's gonna kill me having to move objects all the time.

Thanks, Steve

Do you have any scripted objects running? Are you changing resolutions? Objects will re-dock after the resolution changes, and scripts can move locked objects(I think).

The changing resolutions may have something to do with it. I installed a new screensaver that I don't think likes my normal resolution settings.

I do have scripted objects but don't think that's it. The scripts have nothing to do with position and I haven't changed them for a long time, long before this started happening.

Let's hope it's the screensaver. Thanks for the ideas.

Do you have your work area reduced at all? I was having a similar problem (though not as severe), where if I put an object in the area that I had reduced my work area by, it would move my objects by the exact amount I had reduced the work area.
