from what I remember being mentioned in the starwars threads, they suggest using medium settings for the ship, planet and modules in your game options as they have added a fair bit of extra data to the game, which already is getting close to the 2GB ram limit for 32 bit windows programs, and the lower details settings use less ram, so you can play longer before the minidump.

by the way it is a good idea to also post system specs like the windows version you are useing( including weather it  is x86 OR 64bit, the amount of ram in the computer, the type of video card, the settings you are playing at and which expansion you are playing in eg sins, entrenchment or diplomacy.

Does video card ram come into this 2 gig limit situation?

wbino, from what little I know I think not, as video card ram is ram primarily accessed by the GPU for display, also from what I have heard there are NO video cards with more than 1gb ram per gpu(might be wrong on that, but do not expect them to be commonly available if I am wrong).

The 2 gig limit is a 32-bit application limit. Has nothing to do with hardware.
