CTD occurs when starting custom scenario created with TOA editor

Whenever I attempt to start a scenario created with the TOA scenario editor, the game crashes to the desktop a few minutes into the "Loading" screen. This does not occur when starting a regular TOA sandbox game, and it doesn't occur with a custom scenario created the 'old-fashioned' way, by editing an existing scenario file (which was how you did it in DL and DA). The CTD occurs regardless of which custom scenario I use, but does not occur under any other circumstances.

Most likely something is malformed in the scenario file, though the only way to tell for certain would be to go through it manually.

This is occuring with every scenario I create, however, regardless of what I do with them. As I said I never had this problem with custom scenarios for DL or DA...

An update: As this was done with the Ultimate Edition, I tried loading the scenarios from DA. This did not produce a CTD, but something is still wrong, as the scenario's diplomatic settings aren't working.

For instance, the one in the debug file above ("Mano y Roboto") was a Terran/Yor one-on-one duel. When starting the scenario, I should be at war with the Yor, but I wasn't. The same holds for other scenarios I tested on DA.

Again, scenarios created through editing the xml directly and the game's own scenarios work fine, at least on DA and DL. It's only the Twilight editor that isn't working.

Just curious, why are running the game at 1024 x 768 when your native resolution is 1680 x 1050?

Not only is it well below the res you should be running, it is also a different aspect ratio. That has been known to cause problems - sometimes major and random problems - with many video drivers.

You should set the game to run at 1680 x 1050. You will find it a more pleasing resolution for the game, and it might even fix some of your problems.

I think I mentioned this on another thread. The original resolution for GalCiv II when I started playing was 1024 x 768, and I grew used to this setting. By the time I figured out I could switch to a different resolution (I didn't look much at the options at first) it would have been highly disorientating to play at a different setting.

While this might be causing certain graphical errors, such as a bug I've had with screenshots, I don't see how it could possibly have anything to do with this particular problem.

I was wrong: ALL scenarios produce a CTD on TOA. The only type of game that can be played is the normal sandbox mode and the campaigns.

I've read that there is supposed to be a patch for this; where is it?

Experimenting now with a simple custom campaign to see if that works.

Edit: The custom campaign works... but only in TOA. It doesn't even show up as an option in DA (discussed in another thread).
