incompetence

I am new to this community and am not sure who to direct this to so, for everyone and anyone. I've searched for a good horror/occult skin everywhere and have come up short. I wanted to creat one myself but alas my incomeptence of photoshop, and windowblinds is really slowing me down.

Heres the thing. I have put up two links to loosely show my concept for the start menu. I would like for it to look more "real" than it does and have no idea how to go about it right now. I can'nt figure out the transparency just yet either.

What I would like is for someone/anyone to try this skin. I have seen alot of the work that goes up on this site and am sure there are plenty of capable people here (beautiful work on this site).

I would just like to see it in a more "grungy" manner than most of the skins here (maybe a grunge brush used for the shadowing or something, maybe a pumping heart for the start button (if possible)and for the window borders, four bones surrounding connected at the corners by joints.

Please, I know someone can do it. It would probably take me two years to finish myself. VERY sorry for the long post!!!

Could be interesting if done right.Magic pink has to be exactly 255 0 255 or it wont work.Plus no anti aliasing or you get pinkish outlines around everything.Make sure Transparent is selected in the images checkbox.You can use .tga images on a lot of stuff but not the main start menu images(unless they have changed that and I dont think they have.)Watch out for areas where the pink and another color might get stretched because it will put in some visible pink colors.Tiling dosnt have that problem.

You should open the image in paint, and fill the 'magic pink' with green, in this way you can see witch magic pink is left, fill this with green too and then when the hole border is green fill it all at once with magic pink, then you're sure it will be invisible. always work with me, and in that way you also have a non-pixelated line.

well, I'm disappoited that nobody sees the potential that I see in what could be a fantastic skin. Not to mention that Holloween is comming up soon. I'm not even asking to use the same graphic just something similar. Thought I would ask anyway.

Well ... Im anxious to see your new skin. Dark is GOOD. But it seems this board doesnt get very much attention, if you happen to know someone that might be up for a challenge could you PLEASE direct them to this post.

Beleive me I know what you mean!! I haven't skinned anything yet and can't wait til I do the next one I'm trying different things right now and am going to have something up in the near future. But hey thenks for actually reading a board besides the "general topics" seems like not very many people like to travel the back alleys of WinCusto

SC you were great, you had me dyin' here, you were so good in fact that if I knew how to skin I'd do it for ya! But I don't know how to skin YET. And I agree...and thats one of many reasons I wanna start skinning, we need some good...gothic...dark....vampirey...grungey skins!
