WindowBlinds 4.4 on Object Desktop

WindowBlinds 4.4 on Object Desktop

http://www.objectdesktop.com

Stardock has released WindowBlinds 4.4 onto Object Desktop. It's a pretty big step up from WindowBlinds 4.3 as being the most significant performance increase in visual style handling in years.

It also supports shellstyles being at the top of a folder rather than merely on the left side (see screenshot).

SkinStudio 4.4 is now available on Object Desktop as well and enables importing of msstyles that have unusual shell styles.

Object Desktop is a suite of desktop enhancements that includes WindowBlinds, DesktopX, ObjectBar, IconPackager, and most of the other programs you would need to totally customize the look and feel of Windows.

Make sure you reboot after updating WB.

Brad,

Thanks for the video link.

Followed the steps you provided in the video after updating both WB and SkinStudio.

Went to start menu after installing and opened My Pictures directory and the shell style had changed. Checked My Music, My Documents - all worked.

What a great opportunity this will provide to create all kinds of great skins!

Cheers!

Any chance of getting a version that will run smoothly with Photoshop CS? Please?

no skins run really smoothly with PS Flibbertygibbets. It's been a problem for a while. For me at least.. It always offsets your cursor when bounding box is on.. *shrug* I just have WB not skin it and things work fine.

I just downloaded it from Object Desktop, but my performance is degraded, overall I find no performance change from Version 4.3, but when I open a folder, any folder, even blank or filled with files, there is a lag in opening folders, as compared to WB 4.3

In 4.3 it used to open in a ziffy, click & opened like Windows classic, now there is a notable lag in opening folders, this happened with Windows XP SP2, Luna HoE, 512 MB system RAM & 128 MB GeForce FX5900XT & 65.73 drivers, with these same settings WB 4.3 works flawlessly

one more thing, can some one tell what are changes over 4.3, except for the shellstyle on top feature, I like my shellstyle on side, & I will be using Luna HoE only, rite now I m using 4.3 again

Well, my performance is the same, if not better with 4.1. I'm running Xp with SP2, 1GB of RAM, GeforceFX 5900, same drivers...no probs here. Works great.

even I found no performance hit, elsewhere, only when I double click on a folder I get a bit of lag in it opening

Does anybody have XP SP2 installed?

I have it installed on my computer and it seems that console windows are not skinned even when the setting of skinning console windows is enabled?

Has somebody met this problem as well?!?!?! >
