DesktopX &

Last night (very late) I did a couple of demos that explains how easy it is to just add some cool objects to your desktop. Objects that are animated or react on mouse over along with some simple scripting.

You'll need Media Player 9 (or later) to play these:

[Super Icons 1]

[Super Icons 2]

They're pretty high resolution. Whether you're a hard core "skinner" or just someone who's just getting into customizing their Windows desktop, DesktopX is a great way to enhance your existing desktop very easily.

Thanks Frogboy! I've been inspired to reload DX (and update it )...and will try out some of the widgets from the library. I'll probably have lots-o-questions to post though

Wow, check out how much the Avedesk fans have conquered/enslaved the once might AquaSoft:

http://www.aqua-soft.org/index.php/news/2004/09/03/desktopx_aamp_super_icons#comments

You can't even make a non-avedesk related news item there without the avedesk fans taking over.

So I've noticed.

Nice Job Frogboy. You really show how easy it is to make these widgets and , well, anything for DesktopX.

Why, I bet I could even make Object Dock Plus with it

Nice work...One question, I am new to creating objects and noticed you were able to change the size of the icon under the States\Appearance tab. I do not have that option in my Desktop X (2.20.027). Any ideas why?

Very, very helpful as always.
Consider releasing, at a modest cost, a complete set of very high resolution tutorials on CD at the end of the year.

I think this is nice for people to see... It can give people ideas about things they didn't know were possible. You should include a credits list (as part of the posting) though that lists the objects/widgets that are exhibited in the demos, so that if viewers see something they think is cool, they can look it up and download it. There're too many things in the libraries now for people to go through them all looking for a visual match.

Cheers...

Brad,

Great job of adding valueable learning tools to a great product.

It is really easy to see that you are putting your best efforts into these products.

BTW, really loved the quick script session to give basic examples to peak our interests (or at least mine) in learning to script a bit.

Thanks again.
