You're too kind. I am always so embarrassed listening to my voice and my little mistakes during the demo.  I have tons of little mistakes I make during these things but hopefully it still conveys the program ok.

Nice video Brad. One quick question. Is there an archive of the SDTV videos? I remember watching one a while back on making widgets (or DX objects, can't remember) and now that I have the program would like to watch it again. Thanks.

Very tempting, I wonder though is there a way to package up and save your settings, docks, tabs, icons (the whole deal) so when you format you’d be able to get right back to where you were? Also can you control dock transparency with a slider? I thought I detected some degree of transparency in the video.

Nice video. This is excellent. When you do the video though it really makes me think of a few things that I wish OD Plus had when I use it.

1) I like the fly out menus but I wish I could doubleclick a folder and that folder would open. Sometimes I don't want to keep drilling down deeper and deeper in folders. I just want a quick way to open a folder one, two or three layers deep. During your video you coudl see the same thing happen when you were looking ta pictures and maybe you just wanted to open one of your folders rather than only one of the pictures in the folder.

2) I wish the docks had the ability to float the same way that the tabbed docks do. I want my dock to be on the right side of my monitor vertically but not at the top right or in the center - about 1/4 of the way down the right side of my monitor. I can do this w/a tabbed dock but then I don't get the added zoomer feature. I wish you could add the "undock" feature of the tabbed docks to the regular docks.

PS...I think I detect a Chicago/north central US accent.

Mav Phoenix - As long as you backed up the .png or .ico files you have used for the dock icons, and the image files for the tabs you are set. Me, I would just backup my whole ObjectDock folder (minus the executables and such - the image folder, themes folder, and backgrounds folder) and I would be set. You can save your set up as a theme, and as long as the image files and such are in the same place once you reformat then the .ini files for the themes should load up just fine. I have saved a theme (and the image files), completely cleaned out the ObjectDock folder, put those back in place, and the theme loaded just fine.

And yes, you can adjust dock transparency. Pretty nifty. Though some of the backgrounds are, by default, somewhat transparent.

*hopes that all made sense*

heh, been using objectdock plus for a while, still only one thing i would like real bad tho. And thats the taskbar & system tray on one bar. Then i would use objectdock plus permanently. Please impliment this, Please? lol

If not, oh well i tried heh. I will continue to support stardock anyways.

Thanks BlueDev just what I was looking for.

I have all my icons (ico and png) along with other things on a separate partition so it would be unaffected by a format and reinstall and those locations wouldn’t be changing.

This is getting much more attractive, the tabs look very useful and flashy.

Reble you can already do that. Just look at the screenshot for instance. I think that's demoed in the video too.  You can have the traskbar, system tray, etc. each as their own tab on the same dock.

Very kind of you to provide this tutorial, Brad.

I am not sure, but I don't know of any other software that includes such great support for both it's free version and it's advanced version.

I think this very fair to all.

I agree with Mannlister above, that it would be nice to be able to place zoomer docks anywhere on the edge like we can with the tabbed docks. For instance, we could place a dock in between DX objects to compliment the desktop efficiently. Not sure if this is possible, but would be nice.

Thanks again.

Corky - I agree. I put in a request yesterday on this.  I would lke to be able to take a dock and be able to offset it from the edges (X, Y).  Right now, you can't realistically use the non-tabbled dock on the bottom unless you get rid of your Start bar.  I'd like to be able to have my Start bar and my dock.

I also think we should have it where when you mouse over the tabbed dock items that they can animate a little bit. Obviously we can't do the full zooming things or else it would get obnoxious when doing multiple rows and such. But some sort of mouse over effect would be a nice addition.

So in other words, users can expects years of updates in the works on this.

Here's a lil wish for an OD+ feature:

A posibility to use icons/images for "tabs".

It may sound corny but I just got a vision of the greatness of that one =D

Mannlister: hold any modifier key (e.g. hold control or shift or alt) when clicking a folder in a flyout menu to have the folder just open rather than fly it out

For the Users of the Original Windows Taskbar that want a Dock on the Bottom and still want the fuctionality of the Taskbar... Why not just drag the Windows Taskbar to the top of the Screen and autohide it there? It would still be avaiable, and out of the way as well. Putting a "StartMenu Entry" on the right hand side of a Bottom Docked Object Gives you the same functionality as the Taskbar. The only feature I see that is not duplicated is the inclusion of a "address toolbar" type docklet, similar to the Windows Taskbar.

Some sort of mousover effect on the tabbed dock would be real nice, been hoping for that since I got it. Even if it was just a glow or something where you could set the color.

JMB1984: thanx!! now why didn't anyone else tell me that?

this is great! now i'll definitely be using the flyout menus. i love it.

OD+ could really add some mouseover effect on the tabbed dock.
I'd like to suggest to add an option to make background 100% transparent (even tabs) and when mouseover it then the tabs will be shown...

Hhhummmmmm, /me think there's a lot of job to do to add all what was suggested on the newsgroup and over here.

But /me is waiting for it
