Let's face it, lots of PC users want to make Windows look like a Mac. There are all kinds of reasons for this. Some people just love Apple and want to do their part to promote the Mac -- even on their own PC. Other people just like the look and feel of the Mac but can't afford it or want the compatibilty of the PC.

Whatever the reason, one thing is for sure, some of the most popular skins and themes on the net come from people trying to make Windows feel a bit more like a Mac.

Mac... everyone wants the GUI... what's up with that? Could it be that people actually LIKE to use a GUI that works with them and looks good?

One of the things that makes me laugh is when people roll out the classic line "If you want it to look like a Mac, BUY a Mac". <br> Obviously they're not taking into account that a Mac is about 2 grand, whereas somehting like ODNT is $50.....

Hippy, most macs don't cost about $2000. I got my Dual 1.25GHZ G4 for about $1100 and a NEC monitor for about $50 more and it blazes

Hippy,
I agree with Macrobaye about the costs of Macs. I grabbed a 700mhz E-Mac floor model last year for $499 from an apple store near me. You can find deals if you look around on the apple site by the refurbs. Don't get me wrong, I love my PC just as much and wouldn't want to give up either. They're both useful in thier own ways.

I could care less about looking like the Mac. WindowsBlinds and the other Stardock utilities are exactly what I need. The interface is very overrated and I hate the bubbles or what ever the heck the Windows blinds skins are trying to simulate. Besides, I change skins all the time and would hate to be stuck in a single UI design. Thanks to all of the great people here, I don't have to.

Oh my god. AMIGA was the best!!! I sold mine A4000 just few months ago. Mac? No point really. Everything and more can be done on the PC for less. Not to mention games!!! Hahahahahahaha Mac that machine makes me lough!!!

You have to admit though there are some things OSX can do better like making any part of an average window transparent independently just like you can with a desktopX widget. And also having 32-bit titlebars.

"I grabbed a 700mhz E-Mac floor model last year for $499 "Still $449 more than an OD sub.

Even if i dress up my PC like my mac with every bit of customization software OD has to offer, it's still no comparisson to a real Mac.

Simply put, ppl dont want their computer's desktop to look "stock" and the mac GUI immulations offer a great alternative.

Whats with this MAC BS! I think anyone who prefers a largely closed, non-customizable interface that tries to simulate newly built hospital corridors, has got an ego problem. Get a life! There has to be a reason that 95% of world's computer populace is PC and not Mac. You know, I think it is just considered hip to bash Windows.

Apple is Apple they design their own stuff everyone likes the look of apple designed things and Microsoft is design dumb that is the plain truth and is one of the reasons that that jnotion comes. Only one thing is envied and it is not anything important, just the aesthetics

There are good and bad aspects to Apple/MACs. The good is that they completely control what hardware can go in one and with a limited range of hardware available, they can achieve greater stability.

The bad, or course is the limited range of hardware AND software available. No object Desktop of for MAC being the greatest drawback. OSX was a great move. Even more stability and harware accelerated desktop. Windows users still have a couple of years to wait for that.

The whole thing about MAC being easier to use is a myth. It used to be true, but not since Windows95.

It is funny. My brother is a great Mac afficiado and I remember, years ago, his explaining how *not* having icons or a taskbar at the bottom of the desktop was the only logical way to handle running tasks. Now I see how he argues that having some icons that swoop and swirl is a wonderful alternative. It seems sometimes that the dock is an improved Windows 3.1 alternative. But is looks cool, that is for sure.

What one could do is grab the darwin kernel which was recompiled to run on x86 processors and dissappear for about 3 years rewriting hardware drivers and the aqua gui to really have a macwintosh computer. I may be overboard but i'm very cheap! I adore this community

How much is Microsoft Office for the MAC? and why should there be, because Billy Gates says so. Has a lot of money tied up in Apple and if he didn’t apple would be dissolved today.

Very cool, but can freak out hard-core windows users. I did this once using litestep, etc, and the results were awsome
