WindowBlinds, DesktopX for MacOS X announced

Stardock has been quietly working on MacOS X versions of WindowBlinds and DesktopX.  Next week, Stardock plans to open a public beta for MacOS X users of these new versions of Stardock's software.

The MacOS X version of WindowBlinds will integrate seamlessly in to Apple's Quartz engine. Existing WindowBlinds visual styles will be able to work on any 10.3 or later version of MacOS X.

With regards to DesktopX, all .dxpacks will be able to run as widgets on MacOS X 10.3 or later. Utilizing Quartz, DesktopX users on MacOS X can expect outstanding performance.  Stardock has developed a VBScript interpreter for MacOS X to handle DesktopX objects that use VBScript. Javascript will be handled natively by MacOS X.

Stardock doesn't plan to have all of Object Desktop for MacOS X. A bundle of DesktopX + WindowBlinds will be available for MacOS X for $34.95 in June.

Stay tuned for more details.

Frogboy,
Not to sound stupid, but, is this really an April's Fool joke or is there really going to be a Windowblinds for MacOS X? And if so, shouldn't it be Macblinds?

I especially like that part. As if the OS X and the Windows interface were close enough to use the same skins. Hehehe!

Good joke, but keep in mind that OSX is an operating system not toy software like windows javascript:smilie('')

Really, what's to say DX and WB could NEVER work on OSX? Personally, if it's true then I say GOOD. Sure, development would be long but lemme see....Brad got HIS Mac last year, so seems to me that it's probable that he wanted to get WB and DX going on it.

It seems completely possible (and I'm secretly hopin' its true... Panther converted me). Seems like StarDock and Apple had a rather tenuous relationship, however, in regards to ObjectDock.

It actually happened.

Next year you will see. You will all see....

I 'borrowed' a pre-release sub-alpha ver....and got it running on my Mac......[actually an Apple 11e....though all the skins were too big for the 6" screen]...

Funny thing is, Unsanity's got a Luna skin for Mac's ShapeShifter...

Even funnier, you never see Mac users using it, unlike Aqua on Windows...

i'd enjoy seeing this being real. the guy who introduced me to stardock is now in a mac world, and i bet a lot of people would love ahving what we have, and hte ability to redesign an interface.

i had a professor look at my working from the laptop the other day and he said "wow, that's beautiful.. we all got jipped on our flash interface".. i said no no no, this is called 'blackcomb' and i can make my machine look like whatever i want

As someone else mentioned, Usanity Shapeshifter is to Mac as Stardock Object Desktop is to Windows. What would Stardock offer that would be different than Usanity? Not that I don't love Stardock, I run it my work and home machines and I use Usanity on my Mac, I'm just curious what the differences could be.
