Blogging on JoeUser.com

https://www.joeuser.com

Ever wanted to have your own web site with your name as part of the domain? A place specifically deisgned to make it easy for you to write articles, blogs, etc. about anything you want.

That's what JoeUser.com is set up for. And if you have an account here on WinCustomize, you have one on JoeUser too.

We are currently testing out an updated blogging feature that we're not sure how well it works yet.

We are looking for some volunteers to go over to https://www.joeuser.com and create a blog and make sure they are able to do so (and then let us know here). We are also looking for people to give us feedback on how easy (or hard) the process was for them.

Thanks!

Well signup for me was easy, as I already had an account from WinCustomize, but the making of a blog was easier than counting my toes. The only thing that took me a while was trying to find how to make a blog I clicked around a lot, but finally came across the "My Account" link.

I went to start to create my own blog, to see how it worked, and I was amazed. The options are great and the simplicity is fantastic. It wasn't as easy as one would think to come up with something to post so I just typed something up, and in the "Select your viewing audience" section I chose "Just Me", which I think is a really cool feature, especially for skepticals like myself who aren't sure how our blogs will turn out.

JoeUser has tons of users (I mean A LOT... you should see how many referrals this site gets), and loads of information to keep you up to date.

I love the site, and the process was very easy and comforting, somewhat. I'm still stunned at how quickly my blog was put up and how simple it was. Too bad I made it private

I was able to easily create my username for a blogger account. This site has the potential of being quite interesting and informative. I noiced that there is a conspicuous absence of the catagory for "religion", though. One can really not have "philosophy" without religion.

A good suggestion, Condor, but I'm sure it's quite a controversial category for the site to include... although I think I would be interested to hear the reason for it's absence.

I had no problem signing on to site with my WC info. I tried setting up an audience under manage audience, but it doesn't save my Group Name or show who I added to it

I signed up the first week in December, and had no problem signing up/in. Once I got the hang of "navigating" then no problems. And the navigating wasn't that much of a problem, took about 5 minutes to have my first blog posted. All-in-all, pretty easy and painless('cept for the part about coming up with something to actually say.......).

I had no problem setting it up or writing it, but now I can't change the audience.
Also, when I edit it, and press submit I get a message saying the article doesn't exist, but when I click on the link to my blog, there it is in all it's edited glory.

No problem here. Just didn't get how to categorize the site at first...then it occurred to me that on JoeUser, you don't categorize that site, you categorize the articles. Nice touch. I like that.

It was really easy to setup with my current account at Stardock. Writing and posting the first article was a breeze, it's just a matter of having an interesting topic

I too was surprised at how easy it was. I already sent the link to a friend to see if it can be accessed from work. Hm.... It's interesting to see how "journals" have become the bailiwick of the masses if one chooses.

I'd create one of those blog things, But, I have absolutly nothing interesting to say

I created mine in November IIRC. It was easy enough. When I visited it today in February I thought the server was noticeably slow to respond, but still in the acceptable range. On the other hand, it was snappier than WC is nowadays, lol!

(Perhaps JU would benefit from some categoization based on affinities. As it is, it, um, seems remarkably, ah, diverse.)

I like all the syndication features but when I went to use it I realized that I had no enthusiasm to create anything there. It's because I can't warm up to the domain name at all. JoeUser? Surely you could have done better than that...almost anything would have sounded better than "Joe User". I'm trying to figure out a way I can create a username that will sound goofy next to that and redeem it, but I can't seem to for the life of me...Oh well.

Setting up and creating my first blog was a snap.
I can see this getting very addictive. Nice job on the site.

Well, it would seem that I am in the majority. I found it very easy to sign up and create a blog. I must admit that I do have a little experience in blogging since I already have one on DeadJournal.com. It was extemely easy to navigate. If it wasn't for the fact that I have to finish doing my taxes, I'd have stuck around a little longer to read some of the other blogs. Thanks a bunch for referring the site!!! TTFN

it was fairly easy. you could make the process of setting up a blog a tiny bit easier. it took a bit of searching to eventually get it up and running. GREAT JOB though, all in all
