How Did I Lose???

So I played a custom game (no mods) that was an accelerated start.  I could only play Terrans for some reason.  I turned off all victory conditions.  I was doing real good.  Then . . .  I lost!!!!

 

How?!!!  I get a screen that says "Defeat!" 

 

Who wants my saved game to tell me WTF?

What were you doing just before you hit the turn button?

Also, you can go back to the last saved game and try again.

I've been trying that, but no matter what I do I lose and no one is at war.
