Mixing and Matching your icons and your skins

So you've found the ultimate skin...but unfortunately the ultimate icon package you just got doesn't work with it.

The new version of SkinStudio on Object Desktop can RECOLOR your icons enmasse.  I used it today to turn icons that were blue to orange (to fit my Halloween theme).

Wow, it just keeps getting better. Those who don't have OD don't know what they're missing.

Now that is just too cool!!!

That will make it soooo much easier than doing it the old fashioned way

Thank You Frogboy & Stardock for such stellar software

I just love this update. I have for one pondered what icon will go with what. Nice to know I don't have to do that much anymore. One of the best moves Stardock has made this year I think(well other than coming out with the keyboard launchpad).

That's cool! I've always thought that was something that was missing from icons, but it is no longer!

ooooooo. Just tried this with the ChaNinja Subzero suite. It works PERFECTLY, except for an XP logo on one of the icons. I am amazed! Awesome job!

message posted on skinstudio newsgroup as well ..;

Would perhaps be nice if it don't crashes the PC and let me do a hard
reboot ...

Here's an error message i get just before the crash:

[copy on]
Exception encountered
Class :EOutOffResources
Message : Paramètre incorrect
Cought in PaintTimerTimer
Debug step: 0
Last Debug Message: Setting Target Bitmap
Please press CTRL+C now and paste it to IRC or chat window or Mail to
(nothing more)
[OK button]
[copy Off]

N.B: i'm running IconPackager 2.12b.076 because 2.19b.002 is also crashing all the system icons ==> one full day to repair it (see the posts on iconpackager newsgroup, the issue seems to be known under Win98 2nd which i'm using but i'm still waiting for an update corrected version ...)

Apart from the icons functions, this version seems to be buggy on my system : i get a lot of error messages, such as "preview can't be complete" or something like that, and a lot of "Canvas does not allow drawing" + hang on the system ...

Cool! The worst nitemare of the ultimate theme maker was to find icons of identicall colour!

WOW. This (among other recent things) is making me reconsider renewing my OD subscription, even though I only use it at work.

Hello. I take it that everybody here who says they have already tried the new version is talking about the beta? I've been checking the Stardock site regularly for the full release but there's still no sign of it. Or have I missed something? Many thanks.

yep it's still a beta version ...

Brimo, this is already available for ObjectDesktop subscribers, there will be a new Beta release for registered users today or tomorrow, so if you have purchased SkinStudio before you will be able to play with it too.

This feature together with the other cool features like recoloring Winamp anod other skins (sometimes not even supported by skinstudio - like Sysmetrix) will NOT be available in the Free version of SkinStudio. Although the free version will come with the demo of how it works (it will just not save the changes).
there is a new article on recoloring other skins here:
