Many thanks to Paxx and Koasati for all the work that this took.

It's a great site.

Can I recommend that International users send 'date of birth' in mm/dd/yyyy format for simplicity.

International?
Why does everyone else put their date in the wrong format, and not the logical dd/mm/yyyy?

I checked this out and all I have to say is WOW. Ya never know. It's nice to be able to put a face to the work. It makes it more personable. Great work.

Heroes one and all! (self excluded) Marvellous community, thanks to all involved.

The date thing. You know it wouldn't be in order if you would sort by date. That's why I use mm/dd/yyyy for everything.

The mm/dd/yyyy format is kinda a standard in the computer industry, although I admit the dd/mm/yyyy format makes more sense (smallest unit to the largest).
mm/dd/yyyy is only standard in the computer industries in those countries which use that format!

Anyway, back to the site. Good work guys!
why not skip all the confusing and just use "month/day/year" as in January, 1, 19** - then no-one can misunderstand it!

Anyways, great work guys. Lets hope that more will be sending in their pics!
Sorry, I didn't say it right. I didn't mean computer industry in general, more in the programming industry if you prefer.

Besides, if I ever feel like adding extra features, such as show the birthdays on the month for example, it will make my life much easier in the mm/dd/yyyy format.
Enough with the date thing already... I'll settle it right now... it's my nickel, and it will be mm/dd/yyyy!

Thanx everyone, we're glad you're enjoying the site (other than that pesky date thing)

Well, I learned something from the date issue.... I'm the oldest guy on the site

There are worse things than getting older Dave... you could resemble damien 666 and cause flowers to die..make birds stop singing and make scary opera music happen.
hehe - I like scary opera music...
It'd be nice if the world just used the 'clever' format....yyyymmdd....eg 20030722....just like a 'real' number....

I managed to convince Doreen of the logic behind day/month/year (and that of street/number as well), so go figure. Standard is more like yyyy-mm-ddThh:mm:ss+hh:mm (the last bit being the offset from GMT).

Anyhow, enough nitpicking, good work!

so where's your pic crae?

we need Doreen too (as well as a boatload of other folks)
Last time I came close to a camera was a decade ago. And Doreen is a shy girl, believe it or not.

/me smiles wickedly as the opera music swells in the background

I just sent in my pic, so that my ugly mug can appear next to those of the rest of you.

As to Date... In the US Army we always supplied the date as 22 JUL 03 seems pretty simple to me.

But Koasati, you do what you want to do... it's your wizzardary that put it all together. And wonderful work might I add.
Thanks for putting this out there for everyone.

Nice to see a face to the ones who reject your hard work!
