I having the other guys look into this problem but for now I would suggest try deleting your cookies and relogon to joeuser.  That may cure the problem for now.

And When I hit "Create New Article" I get a message saying "You are not authorized to access this page."

Had the same problem twice yesterday.

That happened to me 4 or 5 times today...I tried logging out and logging back in, but that didn't work. I eventually took T-Man's advice and went and deleted my cookies and then came back to JoeU..that worked.

can't edit any blogs at my blog page, locked out.

I found a work around never mind

What was your work around?

I should E-mail you to tell you, it wouldnt be a good idea to post it publically. The work around I found could alter any blog on this site. If a malignant user finds this easy exploit, they could wreak havoc.

I will tell you what I stumbled upon in a private E-mail.

New? bug. I gave a cursory glance through this post and didn't see it, so if this has been reported, apologies.

I was testing hyperlinking in a private article to myself so that WHEN (not if) I botched it, it wouldn't cloud the public atmosphere. I found that if you don't close the quotation marks on the url in the anchor tag, you get a great big truncated post as your entry, but what's worse, you can't delete it. Example (and I hope this works) <a href="http://blah.blah.com target=window>link text</a>

I now have a private message to myself which can't be deleted, and while that doesn't bother me, if it's doing weird things on the server end too, I thought you'd want to know.

Thanks OckhamsRazor,

It's on our to-do list.

When using the default font while posting a new article, the lines overlap. Selecting a different font at the outset doesnt seem to work, i have to post using the arial font, then choose "edit"...then highlite the text and change the font to Times New Roman.

I thought maybe it was just my screen res, but changing that doesnt seem to help. The default font is difficult to read with the lines overlapping like that.

I'll look into changing the line-height for the default font sizes to correct this overlap. Thanks little_whip

Interesting.... humm, I'll have to test this. When you say "Wouldn't let me post...", what do you mean? What error message did you receive? Sometimes, as the site is processing the document that you posted, the server causes the request to time out because it may be taking longer then usual to perform. This could be causing your error. Let me know what the error was, if you can remember. Thanks!

Feh, I did this last night, and I found a solution to the problem of not being able to edit the post. If you manage to royally screw it up and lose the "Edit" link, all you have to do is open up a new browser window with the following URL...

http://mrfrog.joeuser.com/editpost.asp?AID=18218

Replace "mrfrog" with the name of your blog, and the number after "AID=" with the serial number of the article that you would like to edit. Consequently, I figured out how to do this after leaving off the trailing quote on a hyperlink.

On the "Newest Articles" page, currently there are three articles that are staying on top of the list by virtue of being dated 6/17/04 11:59:00pm.
I don't know how they managed to get post-dated like that, but I'm guessing it's a bug.

Me too, and when I try to change my account, it says I need to log in even though I already am.

Kayles,

On occasion, some values are not set properly for the Stardock.net Account Setup page since that is running from a different server then on JoeUser.com and as a precaution, we ask that users re-login to reset these values. This is to ensure that the user is who they say they are.

Sorry for the inconvenience Kayles and everyone else who receives this message unexpectedly.

Feature request for the Forums home page: a time stamp.
Yes, I know people access the site from all time zones, but it would be helpful to know that "last post 0 hr, 12 min ago" was only current as of half an hour ago according to the time stamp.
Since I use the back button to navigate between topics, the Forums home page stays cached until I manually refresh it. Would be nice to know how long it's been since I refreshed.

I have recently change ISPs and need to change my e-mail on my account info at JU, however, the line that has my e-mail address is the only one that can't be changed, am I missing something? Thanks
