Upgraded Lately?

Upgraded Lately?

Am I the only one who's not upgraded their computer recently? In the good old days(TM) it seems like computer junkies like myself were upgrading their computers at least every year, if not more often. Now I sit with my P3-1Ghz machine and a old ThinkPad T20 laptop.

I think I'm going to upgrade my laptop this year to the new IBM Thinkpad T40 which has a 7 hour battery life. But it's still weird to go this long without upgrading. Anyone else finding themselves in the same situation?

We sold an old Gateway that was Intel 60mhz computer in 2001, it was running perfecly. We had already got a new computer in '99, but had trouble selling the other one. We got the new computer for one reason. There was indeed one problem with the old one. Nothing was compatible anymore!!

Ive had my win 98 233mhz for five years now with 128mb poor 4mb graphics card and 6gb hardrive ram which is now awfully slow so ive spend about a grand on a custome made pc running two 3.0ghz p4's, 1gig ddr ram, geforce fx, two 120gb hardrives, dvd-rw, and a lot of the usual software win xp etc.

Well come to think of it I did . As a treat for my new job and thanks to a no intrest loan from said job I upgraded my PC twice in 3 months. I started with a Celeron 800 w/256 MB of PC133 on a Asus TUV4x and a Radeon old school and now I have a Athlon XP 2000+ with a GB of PC2700 DDR and a 128 MB Radeon 9500 Pro on an Asus A7v-333X.

The thing works like a dream

I've done my upgrades so I don't have to worry about upgrading this PC for awhile , and I'm happy with the result
