Having issues selecting RES on WIN 7

alright here is what im running first off,    3.0 ghz dual core x64bit amd athelon 2, 4gigs of ram, geforce 9500gt 1gb, and windows 7 x64bit

heres my problem, when i start SINS up and i go into video to change the resolution, there are none to change. i didnt have this problem until i upgraded to win7

i would just window it and play it that way, but i have a gigantic monitor and it looks so tiny windowed.....any suggestions?

Make sure you've updated your video drivers too. The selectable resolutions are based on what the driver reports to the game that it is capable of.

Also if you stick with windowed, you can resize the window by dragging the edge, or maximize it, etc., just like any normal window.

My drivers are the latest from nvidias website, and i really like the feel of fullscreen mode, thanks for suggestions but i would really like to solve the issue not just duct tape it and call it good. like i said before i never had this problem with vista or xp 64, but when i put up win 7 64 thats when the res issue started, and of course i cant call stardock to ask them for help, there closed....

EDIT: almost forgot the 800x600 just is too bulky i like the larger res feel too, i usually use 1786x982

That's an extremely unusual resolution (in fact the only result google has for it is this very thread). If you're using a non-standard display with the default PnP monitor driver, that is probably part of your problem.

ive already stated that i had no problems with that resolution UNTIL i upgraded to windows 7, and i did contact support, they wanted me to email them a file back and it got categorized as spam, at least thats what the email told me, so this customer support idea is out the window because i cant even send the file that was REQUESTED by stardock support!
