Installed and when I load the app it never displays, just installed over the .87/.88 beta. Any thoughts?

34me- this happened to me. if you can get to od config panel you should find icons totally minimized. just bring icon size up and you should see your dock

Wommers - maybe I'm an idiot, but how do you get to the config panel if the app never displays?

duh - run the app a 2nd time and guess what comes up - the config panel!

I am naturally curious to try this but if I do will I have to re-assign all my .86 icons from scratch or will they carry over? Also does anyone care to list what the advantages of the dock config dialog are?

The best change in object dock would be the ability to modify the right button click to operate the same as window task bar icons do and relegate the center button to call up the customization menu. After that docking the bar anywhere on the desktop would be killer. Thats one of the gripes people have with the Mac dock. Object Dock is already good enough not to be a beta. But if it could do these two things it would be ready for primetime.

Fantasy enhancements would be multiple positionable docks and docks in shapes like a wheel or grid of icons.

I installed .88 over my .87 install and it ERASED ALL MY SETTINGS!!!! ARGH! Make a backup of your settings first!

The readme says it is .88, so they either messed up the installer or forgot to change the version string in the app. Either way be careful when installing!

Thanks everybody. I am really sorry you lost all your settings but thanks for warning me and the rest of us. I'll wait 'til its safe. It would be days before I got everything back the way I have it now.

Question for someone who's already installed this: Have they fixed the problem with always-on-top and maximized windows?
I don't want to go and lose all my settings for nothing...
Thanks.

...nope. Went and installed it, and still no on-top.
Seems like with each update less things work for me. Shoulda' saved that old .6 installation file...

This app has possibilities. It's still full of bugs. I hope they keep working on it and release a working version soon

I would definitley like to see development on this continue. It would be great to have it talk with DesktopX in some manner. Would also be great to be able to assign sounds to icons. I have one problem on my home machine were it does not get along well with Outlook on my Win2000 machine.

I've found a workaround for the always-on-top problem:
I used Window FX to adjust "maximize to set size" so that windows leave a couple extra pixels on the side of the screen where I'm got my dock. Now when I slide my mouse off the screen, the dock pops up just like before.

Hmm, weird... My settings where kept everytime I updated the previous version since the very first build...

I LOVE this update!
.86 took up like 12 megs of memory... and this one barely uses 6, now that's impressive...

But I have one BIG gripe over this version... every time I reboot, I loose ALL of my icons.

It doesn't even start with the dfault ones, it just starts up on the bottom (I tend to keep it on the left) and with just the task bar.

I want help!!! Anyone!

Dangeruss is right, this was posted on the home page on Feb 16. Is this a new version 0.88? From the .87 about box bug, it doesn't sound like it.
