7 menus are kinda screwy WB 7

A lot of 7's menus are a mess(like Vista)...especially most of the drop down menus.I hope Neil can sort them out.

For now I need help with this one.Its the page layout dropdown. It grabs the back from Start menu popup menu and the text from the damn toolbar button(but not the button that should be behind it)... X|

Worst part is wherever there is a line of text,it pulls the edge of the background in from the right...misaligning the right edge.

Anybody have a fix for ANY of this? 8(|

I had to redo my startmenu popup menu on Protector for just that reason. I never got it to look right as long as I had a lighter gradient on the left and right sides.

hope this can be fixed, yet another area of 7 where we have  little or no control.... end result.. an over-simplified theme element is all that is possible, Its killing skinning, bit by bit.

truthfully the menus in 7 are some of the worst I've seen...a lot are just plain unskinned...very win 98. :puke:

I don't see that! Oh...never mind...I forgot I'm on XP. :P

7 is pretty cool in places...but XP beats it hands down for being fully skinned.

This is what I get for spending so much time in XP...I forget how bad the menus in Vista(and 7)...are. X(

That's another on of those fucked up menus that draws elements from totally unrelated and often incompatible sections >:(

Well...that one is using the right elements...badly...and the 'artist' that made that arrow should be fired.

I hate Vistas(and 7) tendency to use faded out elements instead of the actual full opacity image.

This next picture will make you wish you just hadnt ever seen how bad it looks...this is why skinners go bald early...the women too. There is SO much wrong there that I dont have the energy to point it all out.

AND...when I came out of search...I get this...who can use a pc like this?...this is horrible.

no more glass skins for me...they just do NOT work well x_x

Your main issue is the darkness of that skin.

The entire windows UI was not designed with dark skins in mind.  Too many places make text colour assumptions.

yep, text colors are a drag...but that dosnt explain all the misdrawn elements, elements from various sections used together, greyed out elements,or weird see thru distortions...or opaque elements not being used when they should...(and vice versa).

The OS isnt ready for glass yet as far as I'm concerned...nor is it really needed either...really just a distraction.(just looks cool)

The biggest part of the pro software industry has moved away from the MS gui because MS is behind the times...pros want to be able to tune their working environment...or at least not be blasted in the face with too much white. :(O

Neil gave us some nice improvements to the menus in 7 and Vista...yay!

Dropdown breadcrumb menus and view menu text and mouseover!

View menu still pulls in weird at the right side and the dropdown breadcrumb menu has a 64 64 64 color outline around it but its progress!

Thanks Neil.
