one thing i dont miss about work

when my fellow nurses announced they were to have a baby a frenzy broke out, ppl rushing around asking for donations. well, as someone who has no kids doesnt want any i found this a bit of a pain. my response was simple - when i got my 2 kittens last year i asked for a donation upon the arrival of my 2 babies   lol

did i get any money? well.......

The one thing I don't miss about work was being pushed into contributing to a Christmas party I was never going to attend. Yeah, every year they'd come around with an authority slip for the paymaster to deduct $2.00 a week... and every year I'd say: "Get stuffed, I'm not paying 48 bucks a year for some crap party I'm not gonna be at!!!!"  I had a wife and kid at home who'd rather I was at home with them (instead of being out on the town getting plastered) and saving the money for something more important.

The other thing I would say, when the social club people didn't take no for an answer the first, second and third time: "Look, I have to spend 8 - 12 hours a day with you bastards over 48 weeks of the year (take off 4 weeks annual leave)... the last fucken thing I want to do is fucken drink with ya's."

;)

One thing I would miss about work is all the sexual harrassment. It's unbearable at times.

Kittens aren't Babies. They are animals. The greatest thing a human being can do is be a parent. This also carries with a great amount of responsibility but make no mistake that there is no comparison between being a pet owner and a parent. It's your choice not to have children but please don't insult people who choose to be parents by comparing parenthood with owning a pet.

This is one reason, I am sure, that I got laid off. I refused to be pushed around and would not take any crap from anyone. My senior manager was a wuss and a pushover who always made excuses for peoples stupidy. I have a real problem with folks who have no common sense whatsoever and he interpreted telling some one that, was saying they were stupid. I know some highly intellegent people who have no common sense!

Exactly. In all the years I've worked it's never happened to me once... :'(

Not all of them were like that, but that's one reason I refused to be a part of the Xmas social.  Besides, I always liked to keep my work life and associates separate from my social/home/personal life.  The only time I ever became involved with a work associate was when I defended a blind guy against a group of apprentices... and almost got fired because one happened to be the boss's son.

Now there's another thing I don't miss!!!  It's one thing I did try offering around, but none of the ladies ever wanted any.

And in those days I was such an Adonis, too.

chasbo i really think you should take a chill pill - to me my cats are my babies and yes its a choice if ppl have kids or not, i chose not too. where in my post do i insult ppl for having kids? i did say i found it a bit of a pain ppl expecting me to give money coz they chose to have a baby. if you knew me at all you would know that i am the most tolerant and open minded person around, supportive of others and yes i do love my animals.  so before you get on yr high hobby horse take a step back and read my post in context
