Stardock Design Updated Skins

Premium Skins

OK, I gotta ask, since SD has updated so many skins today, must we pay again for the ones we already bought?

I know normal Master skins are given free when updated, for the ones who already bought them.

I also seem to remember being told we had to pay extra to get updated skins for MyColors, ones we already paid for, when Stardock udated them for Vista from XP.

I never did because we shouldn't have to.

I hope this isn't like that.....

...and these are not updates?  Windows 7 updates?  Or are these just old ones moved to a new catagory (Premium Suites)?

That's what it looks like to me.

I would like to know when/if some of the MyColors/Subscriber skins (Spring, Cosmos, Space, etc) will be updated for 7, and regarding the MyColors, 1) will the updates be free? and 2) can we get them as just a .wba file like was promised about 2 years ago? I really do not want the MyColors software installed on here when I've already paid for and installed all the individual components needed to run the skins.

ok, i'm an idiot. not really. i just noticed the new catagory called "premium skins". it seems i already own a vast majority of these skins but none are updated for windows 7. some of them, i bought back in the windows xp days and would've been charged again if i had bought the vista update for them. i buy almost every master skin that is released....almost but not all. sorry, but i won't buy a skin twice.

And where are these new skin updates? o_O

Edit: ah ok....just found the new gallery. They don't look to be updated...just packaged as suites.

I am waiting for the next wave of complaints of people purchasing this old stuff for 9,95 $ and then figuring most of it was made for XP long ago as it is not made clear in any description or news. *sigh*

And why there is the old NOT updated Apogee suite in there is totally beyond any sense, as it was stated 2 years ago that APII is ready to go.

:annoyed:

OK, so they aren't updated for 7?

These are not updates, they are simply being moved to a new gallery for the new WC.

Anybody who wants them.  They may not be Win7 compatible, but there are still plenty of people on the operatings systems that it will work for.

Most of them are not even Vista-compatible. I still think that should be made clear with the skins.

I'm lucky I've already bought most of these wonderful suites - my credit card would certainly take a hit otherwise if I found them all in one spot!!

And ID's right - there are still MILLIONS of XP users out here.

I agree there are 3 versions of Windows currently being used extensively. Knowing this shouldn't every skin indicate which ones it's good for? Certainly the ones you pay for should!

I find that hard to believe and amazingly archaic as Win 7 beats the pants off of XP and I was a die hard XPer until I had to replace my computer due to theft and wasn't going to pay extra to get XP installed. I suffered Vista for about 4 weeks before 7 came out and I am a happy camper. Some folks are just too stuck in their ways to see the advantages of leaving a dying breed!

Wait til you try 7. I still use XP on the Desktop. Win 7 is on my Laptop. With 7 I would love it if these skins were updated.

There, I've had my say.

I really wonder what happened to the top skinners Stardock hired and whose skins and icons are in all these packs... Are they all damned to doing sports and university skins and aero-clones + games graphics in dark rooms for the rest of their lives ? ;)

Its's sad, really.  I have puchased every master theme available and can use only a few.

Please tune in for 2012 and windows 8 versions... O:)
