Teknidermy Issue 11 out now!

(Sorry but it seems the Editor of Teknidermy Mr. Kenray the Master Slacker & craeonics is rubbing off on me so I'll just use this handy cut n paste feature and rip off crae's original news post) hehe

Interviews with Chaz about the switch from LotsOfSkins to ArtUproar; a talk with the yet unknown, but highly talented fc85746; and also SkinBase's Elwin Ransom gets the interrogation routine, as does Hoverdesk prodigy Honz. And there's the man (or rather, boy) you'd love to hate: aafuss.
Ken ponders about the hardships of being an editor and why we never wrote a thing about the ill-fated GuiOlympics (turns out we did) and how meeting up with other skinners can enrich your life. Oh, and I stole Integer's "Stardock's not all evil" article that I won by creating skinnables.org's new default link button.

All that, and fresh bunnies!

Check it all out here: http://www.teknidermy.com/issue/11/

But what about tutorials?
by Vagrant Frogboy - 10/14/2002 12:25:36 PM

/me sees crae's winamp 3 tutorial...

What about close looks at various skinning programs?
by Vagrant Frogboy - 10/14/2002 12:25:36 PM

/me sees Ian Stardocks lead dev for pocketblinds (which btw I love pocketblinds now "Thank you Ian!")

What about articles on skinning techniques?
by Vagrant Frogboy - 10/14/2002 12:25:36 PM

/Tek always tries to ask that question from each skinner interviewed...

What about articles on the different skin websites?
by Vagrant Frogboy - 10/14/2002 12:25:36 PM

/me just interviewed Artuproar site

What about a summary of the major software and skin releases since the previous issue?
by Vagrant Frogboy - 10/14/2002 12:25:36 PM

/me is interviewing Xymantix dev & skinner in this happy skinning community tonight at 7:00

you know what Brad to me, I wonder what went wrong between you and Shog when Shog called you his friend and you called him your friend...

True friends talk smack & get over it and get back to being true friends "OR" they never were friends to begin with maybe?

and one more thing, yeah I stood up and defended Shog! and I also stand up and defend sir aafuss so your point is what about that? I'm confused?

and just cuz you flared up my Doreenosis! I have nothing against you and your opinion Brad I started my original post to you saying: "Quote"

"I know what you're saying Brad and respect that, just that it is difficult for such a small handfull of us (actually 3 at this moment) to cover so much when we get side tracked w/ that dreaded real life stuff, if we had more time to branch out more we could cover more, but unfortunetly it's not like that so it's hard enough to bring the things we do to the table these days..."

and the bottom line is we are only 3 ppl doing the best we can time wise, would you like to sub a GUI olympic article? ken would prob take it?

yes, I would love to see "An INsider History and REview of the GUI O".

Actually, I kinda "assigned" the job on the GUI O story to an outsider, being that myself had already formed strong opinions.

When this person turned in the article, I started trying to "straighten it up" a bit and realized I couldn't. It is a relaly witty piece, but I can't put it up.
You ain't never seen freaking out like what that would cause.

Now personally, I am finding it hard right now to devote time to a volunteer effort that returns so little love.
Dig this: my wife is putting on this benefit concert, totally without a budget, all volunteer (hava lookit http://www.toritribute.com).

all these big name artists like Bob Massey and Herb Leonard just pop outa the woodwork and make considerable contributions..all these artists coming from all these places at their own expense...the whole damn thing just drips love, comraderie and appreciation.

Now, if you had to make a choice as to where you would devote, oh lets say, three hours of your time, where would you put it?

I love reading Dor's interview, Crae's Tuts aand articles, and I still like to do a piece now and again, but time is tighter than it has ever been here at my place, and I am drawn towards the loving by my own nature.

Perhaps Tek has become, in some way, like a "People" magazine of the skinnign world.

there are lots of sites that post press releases, and sites that host skins and have big fun messageboards.

thanks goodness

It's best to not talk about Kenrayone. Tragic story.

Man! you guys are hard, i'm almost afraid to release Modzine #2. you'll destroy it before even giving it a chance. I can see some sort of clique building up in the community and I guess it's normal, but do we really need to destroy ourselves. I guess you just can't please everyone.
