Problem with: Start Menu + Watermark

Hello, I've installed ObjectDock recently on Windows 7, everything is ok, except of a few problems.

The first problem is: I disabled Windows TaskBar (using ObjectDock Settings - "Hide the Windows TaskBar"), and I added a shortcut in the dock to the Start Menu, but half of it turned black.

When I use the WinKey to open the Start Menu it looks fine.

The second problem isn't infected by ObjectDock, but I thought someone here will be able to solve it for me.

I have the Release version of Windows 7 (NOT A BETA VERSION). I tried to install XP Mode, and suddenly the Beta's Desktop Watermark appears. You can also see it's the final version, because in the watermark it's written:

Windows 7

Build 7600

And the third line contains information about the licence I have for Windows 7.

Do you know how to remove it? The patches you can find on the Internet about it works only on the Beta version.

The watermark issue solved here hopefully but read the caveat !!

Your other issue - do you have up to date graphic drivers and an adequate graphics card as your user icon would indicate a problem, what is you WEI score in the various areas ?

When I open it using the WinKey it looks fine, so it supposed to look the same when I open it using ObjectDock.

I don't know what graphic card I have, because I have a laptop.

And the link to the patch in the article you gave me isn't working - it's broken.

Link works fine all day for me.

Start > Control Panel > System > Device Manager > Display Manager will give details of your video card or if it has on board graphics shared.

The link is a web page, there is no zip to download, if winrar is trying to open that you have really messed up file associations.

Have you contacted support from here

What is your Window Experience Index ? listed from Start > Control Panel > System

What version is your Win7 ?

I have Windows 7 Ultimate.

Window Experience Index - I think it's the lowest - 1.0, so I can't activate Aero. :(

And, there is a download for the patch. It's in a ZIP file.

Try to repair the zip under winrar or right click the zip and use win 7 inbuilt zip to see if that opens it, winrar baulks at zips a lot if they are transferred across computers - it is a feature to ensure the integrity of a zip and that it has not been altered after the original owner zipped it up.

I doubt you can get your system any better though with your absence of  suitable graphics card, it cannot even put your user icon elevated on the start menu, it looks like you have win 7 starter with the graphics you have, rather than 7 ultimate; the Start Menu is different to what you have with 7 ultimate and a suitable GFX card - Intel on board graphics I would assume is your problem.

What specs do you have ? Start > Control Panel > System  Device Manager will tell you most things.

I already tried to repair the archive, and it didn't work.

And I still don't understand why it's look like this, when I use the WinKey it looks fine. Is there a command, like something that could be written in the Run box, to open the start menu, so I'll put it in the properties of this icon in ObjectDock?

I tried to install XP Mode
End of quote

If 7 Home or Starter, this may be the problem, XP virtual mode is for Pro or Ultimate only.

Cavan1: I have installed it on Windows 7 Ultimate, but from some reason itdon't work, when I open XP Mode it shows me an error message, and the software is closed after I press OK.

Do not know how, have seen on other threads, there is a way to have Windows recheck and adjust your experience score, if your score of 1.0 is the true score, what are your system specs, cpu, ram etc.

Sounds like it is possible you are trying to run Windows 7 on a system that is really not capable of handling it.

It's able to run it, although there are some annoying problems.

The most annoying is that all movies that are in MP4/FLV stuck every second when I play them in any player I have, or just play the sound, without the video.

besides that it works fine.

And this computer isn't that old. I got it on 2005 (with XP, I upgraded to Win7 - with a clean installation).
