Problems with Demigod//PC turns out

Hello everybody,

I have a problem with my Demigod: When I play Demigod sometimes my PC completely turns off.

This problem sometimes appears after 5 minutes, sometimes after 1 and a half hour.

The first idea was that my graphiccards gets to hot, but i checked the temerature and it didnt rise over 65°C.

The second idea was, that there isnt enough power under full load but the retailer of my pc checked it and didnt find any problems.

As this problem still appears, I ask all of you, whether there is a solution for my problem, or if you have at least any ideas, how to solve.

My PC:

Windows 7 64-bit

Mainboard: Gigabyte GA-MA785GT-UD3H

Processor: AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 955 Processor

8GB Ram

Graphic device: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 285

I hope some of you can help me.

Thanks in advancd,

Doen

I was going to suggest that your power supply might be overheating, but after reading your post I somewhat doubt it.

You know 65C = 129F right? That's pretty damn hot if you ask me.

Did you upgrade your PC's graphics card/RAM? It could be that the power supply can't handle the full power of your graphics card and RAM upgrades.

If your computer is flat out turning off (rather than rebooting, which would indicate a BSOD with the actual error display disabled), that strongly indicates a hardware problem, despite the computer shop's lack of findings. Either overheating (not necessarily the GPU) or a PSU issue (underpowered, failing under load/heat, etc) is most likely.

End of quote

Many modern GPUs are designed to operate at or beyond 70C, temperatures that would destoy an older one.

Still, an hour at 70C can't be good for it

dude, i think i have the same issue..i posted somewhere else about it

does it beep right before it turns off? that's what it does to me, i've tried everything except if it was a heating issue (which if it's the same as your problem won't fix anything), so i think i'm gonna call my comp company or Fry's b/c i have warranties under both to see what they think it is and then probably send it in to them

@ Splitshadow: I ran a benchmark which brought my graphic card to the full load. It worked for over 4 hours at around 70°C, so I think this is not the problem.

@ ErnieDavis: My pc just turns out without any sound. But I Cant restart it for 2-3 minutes after the crash. But I dont get an error message 8O

oh i see, well i have a laptop so it may be different, but i can restart it right after it crashes

and i don't get an error message either

If you can't start it back up after it crashes, it sounds a lot like an overheating problem O:)

Just saying.
