And this came in today's Call For Help daily email:

A Note From Chris
I had a truly awesome dinner (and parallel discussion) with Brad Wardell from Stardock this evening. Dude is totally cool - and very level-headed. His company is working on some supremely sweet stuff, but don't expect me to give you any specifics (because we have one of those non-disclosure agreement thingies).

Let me put it this way: you ain't seen nothin' yet (and you know I don't say that about every piece of Windows software). Not that what's out there isn't worth using, just that "me too" programs seem to be the rule and not the exception anymore.

And if you're the kind of person who drools over a killer UI, you should consider starting to use the Microscopic skin for Trillian. If the skinning bug hasn't hit you yet, it will - sooner or later. It's one of the first features I look for in a utility, especially if the default viewer is lackluster. Yesterday I even told a viewer named Mike where to find more skins for Windows Media Player. Scroll to my show notes to get the links to the sites I recommend.

Traditionally, the ability to change interfaces on the fly has been reserved for the computer hobbyist. When functionality is more commonly integrated into the frivolous component, people will start asking for a more customizable software experience.

Bill Wardell? I wonder if that's Brad's long lost brother?!

That's amazing that I didn't even notice that, T-Man. (It's a direct cut and paste from their website.) I guess I haven't quite woken up yet.

Okay, I just walked over to Brad's producer and told her that his name was, indeed, Brad. Bill is Brad's evil twin. He smells like cabbage, whereas Brad smells like a nice pasta primavera.

Oh, and for what it's worth, WinCustomize was featured on my show (Call for Help) yesterday. Took a while to pull up, but the payoff was eventually there.

So, lockergnome is the Call for Help host?
Way cool! Call for help is my second favorite show after The Screen Savers!

Who is this l0ckergn0me and what is he doing on my browser?

Seriously though, I don't get the show here in N.C. (we have it availble on cable, but you got to shell out more bucks for that. My wife deems the extra cost unworthy)

Bummer....

Stupid question, but what channel are these shows on?

Great job, Brad! I especially liked the Star Trek desktop demo.

man your demoing star trek stuff on live tv haha. you are a brave soul Bill . Let's hope Paramount was watching All My Children when it aired.

Hmm, Bill Wardell + Star Trek = Brad Shatner....

That sucks.... my cable company doesn't carry it... :-/

I thought Brad was great. Loved the Star Trek demo but what he showed with the customization for his kids demonstrates that the OD tools go beyond eye candy, convenience and productivity for folks like us. They can also have a valuable use on any family computer.

Did I hear marketing talking?

I'd worry about Apple lawyers before I'd worry about Paramount lawyers, but since it doesn't come with either theme, I doubt if it's a problem.
