CTD whenever I edit a tech

Hey I was wondering if n e one could help me out.  I install the game n both expansions fine n can play them fine but if i go to edit a tech tree n save in the editor.  The next time i play the game it will crash me back to the desktop on the loading screen in the game.  I dunno what to do cuz the game has always worked fine for me before even with tech tree editing.  Its so boring to play immense galaxies when you research all the techs in 20 yrs so I hope someone can help me out

Does your edited file have any xml syntax errors or out-of-order prerequisite techs?

Not that i can tell but it only seems to be with the terran tech tree once edited all the others seem to work fine when edited
