(Media-Newswire.com) - The captain of the Cornelia Marie fishing boat which starred in the Discovery Channel's Deadliest Catch tv reality show has died. Captain Phil Harris passed away at age 59 from a stroke.
The popular TV show featured several boats that fished for Alaskan king crabs in the fierce Bering Sea off the coast of Alaska. The captain of the Cornelia Marie had a history of medical problem which escalated when he suffered a massive stroke on January 29.
A statement from the station Discovery Channel said "We will miss his straightforward honesty, wicked sense of humor and enormous heart."
No word on funeral arrangements.
Sad...I'll miss him. Take care of yourselves, folks...

He was one of my favorite captains on that show.
