Ch-cha-changes for the forums soon

The WinCustomize forums going to be getting some serious upgrades in the coming weeks. For one thing, they'll return to the original design of a more flattened experience with sub-forums being "tags". It make it much much easier for people to find things than it is currently.

Another area of improvement is the search. We plan to do a lot there.

And lastly, we want to have skin comments be tied into the forums.

Not sure was is meant by a 'more flattened experience', guess I haven't been here long enough.

Skin comments tied to the forums, just how is that going to work?

The need to Improve the search function in the forums has come up lots of times in threads.

Skin comments in the forums would be good. An email letting you know there has been one posted would be better! I don't know how many times someone has commented and I didn't answer because I hadn't been to the site for a little while and wasn't aware of the post / question.  So, to anyone who thought I didn't care enough to answer you, I'm sorry. I didn't know...... :S

Every skin has a "watch" feature and that should give you an email if you sign up to it. I thought there was an option in personal settings too but I'm not sure.

Comments tied to forums is a good idea...more exposure for the skin authors. |-)

As for skin comments being tied to the forums, I sure hope the change fixes the double comment thing that's been plaguing myself and others for quite a while now.

Could we get a "Recent" link in the home sub menu at top left of the pages, in the new forums? I see it has one at the bottom of the forums, but IMO it would simplify things of there was one in the main home dropdown.

I actually stopped to read those backwards... should it be easier? I also am not sure what he meant by 'flat', does that apply to the design? (i.e., the headings that are slightly protruding and glossy?) I like that appearance.
