Deskscapes Question

Hey everyone,

Just curious about something, I waited for Deskscapes to be xp compatible and downloaded it when it was suppose to be but could never get it to work properly. I kept it installed and kept updating it all the way to ver. 3 I think. Still could not get it to work so I just got frustrated with it and uninstalled it.

The problem I had was evertime I would run it the selected dream would open in a window and not on my background and then when I would try to quit it everything would freeze causing a need for a reboot. I went through all the checks and possibilites, my video card is well above the requirements by far, codec checks and yada yada yada.....

Anyway my question is, has it improved for xp compatability? Or has others with the same problem as I had figured a solution yet? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated, because unless I can get some glimmer of hope I am not gonna bother with downloading it again only to have the same problems.

Thanks in advance everyone,

Allen

If a dream runs in a window it means your mpeg video codecs are not compatible with windowless mode.

What mpeg decoders do you have installed?

Not sure if these are the same I had back when I had Deskscapes installed but currently these are what are listed in my video compression codec properties :

camcodec.dll

DivX 6.8.5 Codec

iccvid.dll

Indeo Video 5.10

ir32_32.dll

ir41_32.ax

iyuv_32.dll

Microsoft MPEG-4 Video Codec

msh261

msh263

msrle32.dll

msvidc32.dll

msuyv.dll

tsbyuv.dll

vp6vfw.dd

There you have it that is all that are installed to my knowledge per video codec properties - if it is just a matter of getting the right codec please inform and I will surely give it a try. I know by using xp I've kinda gottah dinosaur on my hands, but with all the other programs from my Object desktop it's a sweet dinosaur :P Would be nice to get the above working as well...

Thanks in advance for your quick response and help
