Demigod Bug : Screen goes black (powers out) and Computer hangs needing a hard reset.

Greetings Stardock fellows,

After being unable to play in a way that would be reliable , i spent a lot of time trying to fix or to find a solution for this 'BuG'.

I've changed all drivers , bios and stuff and still i was getting that bug where suddenly in a game or in the lobby your screen would just go black ( turns off ) and then the computer jams, only way to get out is hard reboot. #:(

So, i've run a Stress Test software on my laptop ( that meets all requirements for the game Demigod BTW ) The stress test went fine , but after the stress test ive run a benchmark test after a few seconds my screen went black and i was on the destop on Windos Vista.

I got a tray wich I've put under my laptop, behind , to create a gap so he can 'breathe' and with that next to the fan side I've put an Ice pack , you know these things that you freeze and put in lunches, the ice pack became very hot.

When i did the stress test my pc was doing the same noise as when im playing or in Demigod. So , like most said , i'm pretty sure the game is stressful to the GPU's and before it melts , explode, or burn , i assume the computer hard shut itself , kinda like breakers in a house.

Is that the real solution , i don't know , but what i know is that i never got the Screen goes black bug , and since, i am enjoying the game more and more

Hope this can help others , since it helped me.

Legendaire

P.S: I apologize for the grammar. I live in montreal , quebec , canada and i usually speak and write french.

The stress test ive used is : Prime95 64 bits version. This freeware can be downloaded at :

Happy Gaming

Definetly , it was the cpu or the video card overheating , thus everything shuts down.

I've been able to play Demigo since , without ever getting the black screen of frustation bug.

Demigod is a very nice game

:)

Yes, this sounds like the GPU is at fault. But to be sure also run a memtest.
