Win7 starter and windows blinds

I installed the trial version of windows blinds to try it out.  I got it installed and up and everything, but when I hit apply the only thing that changes is the start button.  The wallpaper does not change, the transperancy does not change, nothing.  I have tried ensuring I ran as admin as well.

As I understand it, the WindowBlinds trial version has some limited funtionality, that some features of the paid version are not fully implemented: ie. transparecy, etc.  As with most trial software, the WB trial is a teaser to give you a basic idea of the program's features and whether you like it enough to purchase it.

Having said that, transparency and other effects may also depend on your video card's ability to display them.  For example, you need a WEI (Windows Experience Index) score that's 2.5 or higher to enable them... this can be checked in Control Panel> Performance Information & Tools.

As for the wallpaper not changing, that may be because the skin didn't include one and/or you have the 'apply included wallpaper' button unticked... if it is in fact available in the trial version, that is.

Other than that I can think of nothing else at this point.  I'm no expert, but if you can post the 'System Information' from WindowBlinds here, somebody who's more knowledgable than I will come along and shed more light on it for you.

:)

Windows 7 Starter edition does not support transparency effects.

The trial of WindowBlinds 7 does not support changing the wallpaper on Starter edition, but the latest version of the purchased version does.  Next time the trial gets updated it will also gain this ability.

bad luck, I purchased windowblinds 7 for my netbook with win7 starter OS and it does NOT supply transparency at window borders nor at taskbar nor at explorer windowpaper. :(

Well best solution is to get rid of the starter edition
An OP that calls itself OS,that doesnt allow you to change your wallpaper!!!!! without adding software that modifies your OP to actually do so-shouldnt be the first choice for a notebook anyway...
In the early stage of windows 7 there was a professional ultimate version that you could get for free as student.I dont know if it is still available but you still should get a discount as student on MS products.
